The Consulate Hotel is a mid 18th Century building with old colonial wrought iron balconies. It provides comfortable and relaxing accommodation in pleasant and friendly surroundings.
The Crallen report of 1974 dated the building from mid 1700's: dating its doorway as 1760 at the latest. Saul Solomon owned it in 1839 having bought it from Sir W Doveton in 1820.

The Building has been extensively extended over the years and now have 18 rooms. All rooms are twin bedded, en-suite with bath and shower facilities and are equipped with wall-to-wall carpeting, fan, telephone, clock/radio and coffee/tea making facilities.

HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES



The hotel Dinning Room is an attractively appointed room capturing the atmosphere of a ship's dinning saloon with it's ship's arty-facts, including sailing ship's masks supporting the upper floor and the steering wheel dated 1821 from the sailing ship "Fairport".
The Dinning Room opens daily while residents are in the hotel, but cater for meals by reservation only.
Visitors with a Bed & Breakfast reservation will need to book each meal as required. Meals can be booked at breakfast each morning, where the day's four-course menu is available.
Menu courses are individually priced and every effort is made to meet special diets.
Packed lunches are also available for those wishing to join in the popular all day tours.
