KENYA CLIMB KC20 - NARO MORU-SIRMON ROUTE |
This safari starts in Nairobi
daily and ends in Nairobi.
We will provide: Transfer to and from the mountain,
porter for each one participant to carry your rucksack (maximum
weight 18 kg), a cook, all park entry fees, hut fees, 3 meals
per day and a mountain guide and rescue fee and a certificate
of achievement.
Not included: beverages, tipping of the guide/porters,
personal travel insurance, visa or any other items of a personal
nature.
Please do NOT forget to bring the following items for your climb:
a sleeping bag (for mountain), day pack, hiking/climbing boots,
training shoes, socks - thin polypro type for quick drying,
thick socks - heave wool to wear for warmth, wind pants, long
pants, long underwear bottoms, hiking shirts - long sleeve,
sunglasses, note book and pen, sun block, lip salve and moisturizer,
water purification tablets, rain parka, rain pants, jacket or
pullover fleece (warm enough for cold nights), toiletry items,
blister kit, drug kit, woolen gloves, a warm hat, a normal hat/cap,
water bottle, pocket-knife, flashlight or headlamp your camera
and film, energy bars - candy e.t.c.
No mountain climbing skills are required to reach the summit.
However it is essential that you be in good physical condition.
Throughout the trek on Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro a professional
mountain guide and several porters who carry all your gear will
accompany you. The only items you are recommended to carry yourself
are water, camera and anything else you will need close at hand.

Depart Nairobi for Mount Kenya. Here you will meet
with porters and guide, and proceed on to Naro Moru Park gate
2.400m.Begin acclimatization hike [3 hours] to Met Station
3.050m for overnight. All meals provided. |

Hike leisurely to Mackinders camp 4.200m for overnight
[5-6 hours] -All meals provided. |

Pre - down attempt Pt. Lenana 4.985m and descend to Shiptons
camp 4.200m for overnight - all meals provided |

4
Descend leisurely to the park gate via Old Moses camp 3.300m.
At the park gate you meet your transfer vehicle to Naro Moru
River Lodge for overnight on HB basis. |
