CONFERENCE FALICITIES: For conventions incentives or other special gatherings, Club Makokola has a modern air-conditioned Conference Centre ideally situated in quiet bougainvillaea fringed gardens away from the main hotel complex.Two main conference rooms are available, with one seating up to 110 delegates while the other seats 40. Breakaway rooms are also available and an open garden courtyard provides the perfect location for teas, barbecues or buffet luncheons.
Once a meeting is finished for the day, there's a selection of things to see and do. We will assist with ideas and proposals that will stimulate the participants to surpass even the most exacting expectations.There's always sun, sand and the Lake. There's also golf, tennis, squash, boating, diving and sunset cruises.Arrangements can be made for special events such as theme evenings - an Italian or Oriental evening, a pirate party or a beach party complete with the African rhythms of a local band. Authentic traditional dances performed by local villagers to the beat of mighty drums depict Malawian myths and legends and feature unusual costumes and masks and even dancing on stilts. Barbecue buffets under the countless stars. Club Makokola is unquestionably the ideal year-round conference destination. Malawi's lakeside areas have a low rainfall, and a warm relaxing climate. Many options exist for pre and post-conference tours and excursions.
HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: Club Makokola is spaciously laid out in well-tended gardens, but it is the beach that will draw your attention. The lodge has its own vast expanse of pale sand, dotted with low palms and thatched sunshades, under which lie sun loungers with padded cushions. A waiter will take your drinks order and deliver it to you on the beach. This is real decadence.
Most rooms face the warm water of Lake Malawi, which looks like a sea but has no tide, nor salty water. It is perfect for such watersports as sailing and windsurfing. While diving and snorkelling are done at a stunning little offshore island, where tropical fish abound beneath the surface and fish eagles are ever present above it.
The lodge has an enormous swimming pool 44 metres (143 foot) long and 16 metres ( 52 feet) wide. You can get some serious exercise in this pool! If that all seems too much, then just paddle up to the pool bar for some cool cocktails and ice cold beer.
Club Makokola has the only landing strip in the area, and it is just a short stroll to the lodge. This facility makes your journey very manageable and hassle-free.
