SEA EXCURSION

Wooden sailing boat Pirates Cruise (West coast) The Pirates Cruise is an unforgettable trip on board “La Caroline” a 34-foot wooden sailing boat, the genuine replica of a pirate boat. Spend an enjoyable day cruising around Ilot Mangenie, Ile aux Cerfs, and admiring the waterfall of Grande Rivière Sud Est. The ever changing turquoise lagoon, the green lush vegetation, the soft sea breeze, everything contributes to a pure sense of elation. Spend two hours sunbathing and relaxing on the fine white sand beaches of Ile aux Cerfs or doing some water activities. A seafood and chicken BBQ will be served on “La Caroline”. Snacks and drinks at will. Music and Sega performed by the crew keep the atmosphere lively and exciting throughout the journey. Guests are welcomed to join in the show. This makes the cruise a typical and memorable experience. Leave the hotel for the Sunset Boulevard in the village of Grand Bay. Boarding the catamaran and briefing with the skipper before starting the cruise. Leave the Jetty for a 2-hour sail towards the Northern islands, passing near the “Gunner’s coin” which is the sanctuary of marine birds. Reaching the islands, you will have the possibility to snorkel, with equipment available free of charge. Non swimmers will be transferred on the beach of the island by boat. In the meantime, the skippers prepare the BBQ lunch. With less than 10 similar possibilities throughout the World, this wonderful adventure is worth being experimented. During one hour, comfortably seated in an air-conditioned cabin under atmospheric pressure, discover the magnificence of the undersea world, 30 metre deep: colourful corals, glittering fish and the forever rested “Star Hope wreck”. Safety certificates are issued yearly to the submarines by international safety control organisation such as Bureau Veritas. Permanent contact is maintained with the surface boat through the use of ultrasonic phones. Air, water and food available for 3 days. This unique submarine in the world, called “Sub Scooter” reminds us of either a James Bond movie or the famous cartoon of Tintin and Milou. The riders sit one behind the other as on a scooter, with their head covered by a transparent dome providing a panoramic view of the reef and all the important air to breathe naturally, without the need of a regulator in the mouth. Riders can therefore express their instant delight to each other underwater. A dive will take about 30 minutes, led and supervised by two qualified dive guide. Available for anyone over 12 year’s old, even non swimmers, but in good physical condition. It is a unique moment and an awakening of the senses. For half an hour or more, on board a special dinghy, go for a meeting with these fascinating mammals. You will have the possibility to be in close contact with these magnificent marine creatures. A historic villa overlooks a sparkling white beach and translucent waters in the south east of Mauritius. After a guided visit , scuba dive or sail in a glass bottom boat to discover the most beautiful marine park of our lagoons. Back on the islet, a buffet lunch will be served in the garden. Once at the jetty, a fishing boat will take you across to the island in 10 to 15 minutes. Make the most of this leisurely day either sunbathing or enjoying the turquoise lagoon or the numerous water sports which can be bought directly on the island. With the unique Aqua+ Scuba equipment, undersea walking is accessible to everyone. It is accessible to adults, children (as from 7), swimmers or non-swimmers. The very special Aqua+ equipment is a clear plastic bubble allowing a unique panoramic vision and this outing offers direct contact with the undersea flora and fauna. During this undersea walk, which is done in groups of 6 in calm and shallow water, you will have the opportunity of feeding the fish, a memorable experience!
