LOCATION
: Located on the southern west, inspired by
Charles Telfair, Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort has been lovingly
developed on the site of one of Mauritius' best kept and most
jealously guarded secrets, the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre,
adjoining one the most pristine stretches of beach of the island.
The countryside that surrounds Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort
is both impressive and imposing. On the one side, the foothills
of the Plaine Champagne mountain descend in a sheer drop of
over 500 metres, while on the other side, the sheer vastness
of the Indian Ocean stretches beyond the horizon.
Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort is just 35km from the airport
and 40km from the country's capital, Port Louis. |
ACCOMMODATION
: The resort takes its inspiration from the
colonial architecture of Mauritius’ grand sugar estate
mansions, which exudes an atmosphere of elegance and romance.
The 158 rooms and suites
are accommodated in villas of 6 or 8 rooms. Ideally located
between sea and nature, between the golf course and the lagoon,
amidst the splendour of tropical gardens, each room offers peace
and tranquillity in abundance.

daily exercise fix in a fully equipped gym. There are 3 floodlit
all-weather tennis courts and table tennis tables available
for residents, mountain bikes for those who wish to discover
the surrounding coastal routes, alongside the southern beaches
as well as a magnificent 600m2 swimming pool.
Water sports :
Water sports enthusiasts have unlimited access to water skiing,
windsurfing, laser, kayak and pedalo. Discover wonderful marine
life either by scuba diving, snorkelling or on a glass bottom
boat excursion.

Nature Park :
For nature lovers, the huge nature park of Bel Ombre, spreading
over 3500 acres, presents a unique environment while observing
the numerous birds, butterflies and deer, wildboar, even monkeys
in their natural habitat. Half-day excursions are available,
conducted by guides - specially trained by the Mauritian Wild
life Foundation – on quad bike, 4 x 4 |

: Le Telfair
Golf & Spa Resort boasts a magnificent Asian-style spa of
the highest international standards operated by Six Senses Spas.
Designed as a village, the 2000m2 spa area is a haven surrounded
by water features and ponds set in tropical gardens. The Spa
offers an extensive range of treatments and techniques both
ancient and modern, including a selection of massages, face

GOLF
: The 18
hole Championship golf course was designed by Mr Peter Matkovich
of Matkovich & Hayes, a firm of international golf course
architects and contractors, based in South Africa
Notwithstanding the incredible
scenic beauty of his many courses, Peter believes that golf
is a strategic game and that the prime responsibility of the
Architect is to provide a challenge to a golfer that is commensurate
with his or her skill and ability.
Two streams run through
the golf course which also features the Château de Bel
Ombre and its beautiful French gardens. Golfers walking the
tracks to the next hole, enjoy a magnificent view of both the
lagoons and the mountains.
The golf course adjoins
the hotel. Residents have access to the golf course by golf
cart via a private golf cart path, leaving from the hotel “porte
cochère” to the golf Club House.
