HOTEL DESCRIPTION: Maison Mnabha is English owned and family run. A warm and hospitable welcome is extended to independent travellers and as a house guest at Maison Mnabha you will receive personal and individual attention throughout your stay in the Kasbah of Marrakech. The authenticity of the architectural decoration of Maison Mnabha is reflected in a richly textured use of colour and pattern in the salons which are the original reception rooms of an ancestral family house. On a small and intimate scale the interior of the house represents a tradition that has been the hallmark of Marrakech palaces for centuries: painted cedar wood ceilings and doors, carved plasterwork and hand cut polychromatic mosaic tiles. On the upper level of Maison Mnabha, a patio decorated with hand made bricks and tiles leads to two roof terraces with panoramic views of the surrounding minarets, palaces and sights of the old city. Seen from Maison Mnabha's terraces in the winter and spring, the snow capped peaks of the High Atlas Mountains rise above the silhouettes of the elegant palm trees that border the Royal Agdal Gardens, originally planted in the twelfth century.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The personal collections of antiques and artefacts, including museum quality pieces, are displayed throughout the house. In the guest rooms antique North African textiles are complemented by old silks from Laos and objects from North Africa, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Burma. Bedrooms are equipped with en suite bathrooms, mini bar refrigerators, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and electronic safes. Free wifi internet is available in the upper level rooms. In the winter the bedrooms are heated and in the summer they are air conditioned.A separate sitting room with a private roof terrace where you can relax with views over the city can be booked (subject to availability) in conjunction with any of the rooms
HOTEL FACILITIES: Morocco is renowned for its food. Ingredients and methods imported from all over the western and eastern Mediterranean, from Africa and the Middle East have been absorbed into Moroccan cooking. With distinctive variations in regional dishes it is however difficult to speak of a single style of Moroccan cuisine. Cooking at Maison Mnabha centres on the freshness and quality of the local ingredients, a respect for the cooking traditions of our region both in the city itself and in the outlying countryside and an appreciation that in Marrakech food is essentially a Mediterranean diet that is now recognized as the healthiest in the world.
