HOTEL DESCRIPTION: Once the Harem of the “Favourite” of Sultan Moulay Yacoub, Riad Kaïss is one of Marrakech’s longest established and most elegant riad hotels.  Located just steps from the UNESCO world heritage site Djema el Fna, the pulsing heart of this magical city, Riad Kaiss is supremely well-located for the sites and sounds of Marrakech.  On a quiet side street, the hotel offers guests a tranquil setting from which to explore this amazing city.
With just 9 rooms and suites, hammam, spa, boutique, swimming pool, a majestic courtyard garden, sun terraces, and a range of services including cooking classes, full-service restaurant, private driver, personal shoppers and guides, Riad Kaïss is a perfect base to enjoy the best of what Marrakech has to offer.
Originally designed and built by legendary French hotel designer Christian Ferre, the hotel has featured in design magazines and books all over the world, including the Hip Hotel series.  Service, however, never takes a back seat to design.  Under new management as of October 2009 by the award-winning team from Dar Les Cigognes and the Sanssouci Collection the hotel continues to provide guests a welcoming introduction to Marrakech.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The rooms at Riad Kaiss have all been designed with a maximum of guest comfort in mind, and each is uniquely decorated and showing its own character. There are three categories of rooms: Superior, Deluxe, and Suites.  All rooms have independent climate control, high quality bed linens, and en-suite bathroom facilities.Some rooms may be twinned, ideal for those traveling together. Superior Rooms:There are four superior rooms.  In pairs, they can be twinned for people traveling together. Deluxe Rooms: There are three of the larger deluxe rooms, all with courtyard garden views.  Two of them can be twinned for people traveling together.
Suites: The two suites both have private roof terraces, offering romantic possibilities for private dining or just relaxing.

HOTEL FACILITIES: Dining options abound, and include private dining, our romantic dining room, several cozy corners, the majestic courtyard, or even our sister hotel Dar Les Cigognes.  With a professional chef, two dadas (traditional women cooks), and a pastry chef, we are able to offer a range of truly magical dishes.Discover some of Morocco’s most famous dishes, that you are unlikely to find anywhere else, such as the magical Trid, one of our signature dishes, and one of great history and lore.  Imagine tasty layers of light, buttery pancakes with quail or poussin and a delicious lemony onion sauce--you will be sure to ask for thirds!  You might also delight in the succulent, traditional Marrakech dish, Tangia, a slow-cooked beef that is meltingly tender, having cooked overnight in the coals of the hammam fire.  Whilst we do propose a range of dishes every day, guests may also request special choices to suit their own palates.  With daily cooking classes, there is also the option to learn how to make each dish, in a comfortable setting, with one-on-one tuition with the kitchen staff.

Riad Kaïss offers its guests a lovely swimming pool with both sun beds and shady corners. With the souks and life of the medina just steps away, the contrast is complete. Combine a relaxing afternoon by the pool with an even more relaxing massage and traditional hammam.

At Riad Kaïss we offer a full-service spa, including a wide range of beauty treatments. The highlight, however, is a traditional hammam and gommage, which is a cleansing and highly relaxing experience. Followed by a massage by our massage therapist and you will truly feel the weight of the world melt away. We have developed our own range of massage and bath products based on the powerfully anti-oxidant Argan oil. Our products are organic and are sourced locally and come in a sublime range of scents. We also offer a range of beauty treatments including masques, facials, manicures and pedicures, traditional henna tattoos, waxing.
