WEATHER AND CLIMATE IN NIGERIA

There are two overlapping dry seasons that are the best times to visit. In the north, the season lasts October-April. In the south, it's dry November-March. It's very hot year-round -- hot and humid in the south and hot and dry in the north.

The best time to visit is November-January, when the days are in the 80s-low 90s F/27-34 C, with nights in the 70s F/23-27 C. During the off season, the harmattan winds blow dust and sand off the Sahara, especially in the northern cities. Avoid June-September, when it's rainy, hot and humid. Take a sweater no matter when you go, as it can be cool in the evenings (particularly in the north).
