FULLDAY TOURS PINK LAKE AND CAYAR: (From 9 :00am to 5 :00pm) Visit of the natural phenomenon of the lake, visit of Fulani villages and interact with the inhabitants. Lunch in a typical restaurant and after proceed to the fishermen village of Cayar where you will attend the colourful arrival of the big game fishing.
FULLDAY TOUR TO JOAL FADIOUTH: (From 9 :00am to 5 :00pm) A fullday trip to the area called la Petite Côte around 60 miles south of Dakar. After passing through the suburb Rufisque and small villages surrounded by Baobab forests all along the road, you will arrive at Mbour, chief town in the area. Visit the local market, and then drive on to Joal, an old colonial spot discovered by the Portuguese during the 15th century, and still a very important center in the region and the birthplace of president Leopold Sedar Senghor. A short tour by pirogue to the island of Fadiouth, famous for it’s Oyster-banks and sea-shell cemetery. Lunch in a restaurant close to the beach, afternoon free swimming and sunbathing.
FULLDAY TOUR AND GOREE ISLAND: (From 9 :00am to 5 :00pm) Morning visit of Dakar as precedently described, lunch in Goree island and visit of Goree in the afternoon.
FULLDAY TOUR TO SALOUM AND JOAL: (From 7 :00am to 6 :00pm) Leave Dakar early in the morning at 7 :00am for the Saloum islands. You will pass by the forest of palm grove trees of Fumela and the Serer traditional villages. Upon arrival at Ndagane you will take the motor canoes to visit the Saloum islands classified as exclusive protected natural sites.
You will discover the rich ornithology of the Saloum islands, the fishermen villages the “bolongs”(vegetation corridors on the water).
FULLDAY TOUR TO TOUBA: (From 8 :00am to 7 :00pm) Touba is the most famous Muslim pilgrimage center of west Africa. Founded by Cheick Ahmadou Bamba, the small village became in 25 years a big Town. You will visit the wonderful mosque (decorated with gold, silver and crystal). You will be welcomed by the spiritual leader of the community (the Serigne) who will lecture you on Cheick Bamba and the mourid brotherhood he created some hundred years ago.
This tour will be led by a Senegalese Professor specialist of African Arts. In the morning you will visit the IFAN MUSEUM , the richest museum of Arts in the subregion. One hour visit will make you go through the traditional art of Guinee-Bissau, Mali, Guinee and Senegal. Then visit of the National Gallery of Arts (exhibition of modern Senegalese Paintings) and the private gallery of Senegalese Painters. You will proceed to Thies where you will have lunch and then visit the National Art Tapestries Manufactory which gathers the most beautiful Senegalese Paintings selected once a year in nation wide competition and woven into very exclusive tapestries.
Return to your hotel at the end of the afternoon.
3 DAYS TOUR TO SAINT-LOUIS AND TOUBA DAY I: 9 :00 DAKAR/ THIES/ SAINT-LOUIS Leave Dakar for Saint-Louis passing by the pink lake Retba that you will visit, meeting also the Fulani ethnic group living in the surroundings of the lake, still in the morning, you will proceed to Thies. Visit of Thies 3rd main town of Senegal, rich of Arts and handicraft. You will also visit the Market of Thies (beautiful African fabrics) and enjoy a typical lunch . DAY 2: SAINT-LOUIS Breakfast in hotel and departure for the visit of Saint-Louis. This old town formerly capital of Senegal is also one of the cultural monuments of the world patrimony because of its charming and original colonial architecture style. You till stop at the Governor’s palace, visit the old colonial houses, the typical fishermen cemetery and the picturesque district of Guet Ndar. The visit of the old town will be done in horse drawn carriage. DAY 3: SAINT-LOUIS/TOUBA/DAKAR Breakfast in hotel and departure for Dakar via Touba. Stop in Touba where you will be hosts of the leader of the Mourid brotherhood. Under his personal direction you will visit the holly city founded by the wise Cheick Ahmadou Bamba. You will admire the Mosque (the biggest and the most beautiful one in West Africa). Visit the Library gathering thousands of books written by the Saint man, meet other leaders of the community before enjoying a hospitality lunch. After a while of rest, continuation to Dakar in the afternoon with other visits on the way. You will pass by Louga the home town of the Senegalese current president. Visit of some villages meet the chief of villages and notables who will narrate history of battles which took place in that area between French colonisers and the national freedom fighters.
3 DAYS TOUR TO CASAMANCE AND THE MANDIGO COUNTRY DAY I: DAKAR/KAOLACK/ZIGUINCHOR Leave Dakar for Ziguinchor capital town of Casamance the renowned southern region of Senegal. On the way you will visit the Baobab forest of Sindia, the town of Kaolack and its market. Fulani villages and cross the western side of the Gambia river. Lunch will be taken on the way. Arrival in Ziguinchor in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel Aubert or Similar. DAY 2: ZIGUINCHOR Breakfast in hotel.
Today will be a special day : you will meet the deep Casamance with its uses and customs, meet the traditional chief of the Mandigo ethnic group, attend initiation ceremonies in the villages, interact with the people. DAY 3: ZIGUINCHOR/BANJUL/DAKAR Breakfast in hotel. Departure from Ziguinchor for Banjul in the Gambia. You will also visit the upper Casamance villages and interact with the people. Arrival in Banjul for a short visit of the town and lunch. Afternoon, you will cross the Gambia river by ferry boat and continue your way for Dakar going through the Saloum region. Arrival in Dakar in the late afternoon.

They practice their art for benefit of the populations all around. DAY 4: KAOLACK/BANJUL/ZIGUINCHOR Breakfast and departure from Kaolack for Ziguinchor, capital town of Casamance. You will pass by Toubacouta along the Saloum Delta, rich of its sumptuous vegetation and its birds sanctuaries. After having crossed the Gambia river by ferryboat, you will visit the town of Banjul, capital of the Gambia, meet some tradipractitioners and have lunch in a typical restaurant of Banjul. Afternoon continuation to Ziguinchor and on the way, visit of the typical villages of Badiana, Balla, Diouloulou. Dinner and overnight at hotel Kadiandoumagne in Ziguinchor or similar. DAY 5: ZIGUINCHOR Breakfast at the hotel, departure for a tour of Ziguinchor.It will take you about 1 hour to visit Saint- Maur, market (the main one of Ziguinchor) with its numerous medicine plants, socialize and interact with the herbalists. Continuation of the visit, going to the handicraft market with its features, statues, fabrics, traditional jewels in gold and silver. Also visit the fish market and have lunch in a traditional restaurant of the town in order to enjoy the delicious food of Casamance. Afternoon visit of Mawa where you will meet the “Marabout ” (spiritual Leader and medicine man). Here are applied principles of traditional psycho-therapy. Mental sickness is analysed as a rupture of social environment. Curing the mental patient means therefore re-establishing those broken links and explains the practice of the so said “Group Therapy ” whose origins are deeply african. Visit the beautiful forest of Mbissine. Dinner and overnight at hotel Kadiandoumagne or similar. DAY 6: ZIGUINCHOR/CAP SKIRRING/ZIIGUINCHOR Fullday visit to the animist countries (animism, still dominating the Casamance region is the traditional African religion before the penetration of Islam and Christianity). You will meet with traditional chiefs and notables, visit “totems, holy woods...etc”. Lunch at the Cap-Skirring with its beautiful beach and relax before returning to ziguinchor for dinner and overnight at Kadiandoumagne or similar. DAY 7: ZIGUINCHOR/FOUNDIOUGNE Breakfast and departure from Ziguinchor for Foundiougne. You will visit Mandigo villages on the way, cross the Gambia river once again, have lunch in Toubacouta. Afternoon visit of the fishermen village of Missirah where you will meet the “medicine woman” dedicated to protect, from the “bad spirits” the fishermen going for the whole night on the river for good catches. Proceed to Foundiougne. Dinner and overnight at hotel “Piroguiers ”. DAY 8: FOUNDIOUGNE/DAKAR Breakfast in hotel and departure for Dakar On the way visit of the Malango clinic Center in Fatick. Well known for its efficiency in healing sick persons. The center gathers the most oustanding tradipractitioners of the Sine region called “Saltigués” , and modern medicine doctors. The Saltigués very knowledgeable people beyond their capacity of healers are also predictionist. They can predict on what would be happening in the future. Visit of Joal Fadiouth. Arrival in Dakar for lunch time. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Transfer to the airport.
