Christianity is the major religion of Seychelles, and The Feast of the Assumption of Mary is the major festival. The main celebration of this festival is held in the church at La Digue, the smallest of the three islands, where locals from Praslin and Mahe also converge to offer their gratitude and prayers to the Virgin Mary.

The Creole Festival is celebrated in October every year. This six-day long festival is a salutation to the traditions and the cultural heritage of Seychelles as reflected in its dance, music, cuisine, customs and crafts. The most important cultural event of Seychelles, this colourful and energetic festival is held on the islands of Praslin, La Digue and Mahe.

La Fete de la Francophonie
Place: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue (13 Mar 2011 - 31 Mar 2011)

The strong point of this year - "Fete de la Francophonie" event - will be in remembrance of the Haiti earthquake victims. Like the Seychelles, Haiti is in the Kreolophone and the Francophone. A Bazaar of the Francophone is on the list of events and all proceeds will go toward the cause.

EXPO 2020 is a hi-Tech exhibition on opportunities for the next 10 years.

ATLAS. Charity Fishing Tournament
Place: Marine Charter, Victoria, mahe (15 Apr 2011 - 16 Apr 2011)

It is a 1-day Trolling-only tournament. It starts 0300 ends 1700 hours. Cash prizes for each fish category.

The Seychelles Regatta
Place: To be confirmed (22 May 2011 - 27 May 2011)

The Seychelles Regatta is yearly events that will be organize in the beautiful turquoise ocean of Seychelles. Teams from several countries that will be participating include some famous Vendee Globe winners. As more teams get use to the race, the competition is expected to be tougher than previous years.

2011 Seychelles ECO-Healing Marathon
Place: Beau Vallon - Mahe Island (27 Feb 2012)

The annual Seychelles eco-healing marathon will take place at Beau Vallon on Mahe Island on the Sunday 27th of February 2010. 06:00 or 07:00 in the morning start. From Beau Vallon to Victoria via Glacis and returning the same way to cover a distance of 42.192 KM.
