The Cascades Hotel, the Grotto Restaurant and the pool area underwent an extensive R60-million refurbishment project, transforming the 1980’s themed pool area into a tropical paradise. The Mediterranean is the deep, blue heart that gives life to the countries that surround it. With this in mind, Sun City has transformed the Cascades Pool and Grotto Restaurant into an area reminiscent of the azure blue of the tranquil Mediterranean. The original garden area has been transformed into a lake with cascading waterfalls. The pool deck has been extended by about 7 metres and the lawn areas have been converted into a sandy beach complete with a secluded bathing area and sand bar evocative of Tom Cruise’s “Cocktail” movie. Guests can enjoy the ambience complete with bikini’s and flamboyant barmen. There is a heated pool, a Jacuzzi pool and children’s pool. The Grotto restaurant has been revolutionised. The Mediterranean restaurant now named Santorini, is surrounded by glass windows providing an all season enclave, harbouring guests during winter. Alfresco dining takes place along the island promenade and delightful gazebo’s offer shaded areas where guests can relax informally and enjoy a delectable meal.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: All 243 elegant air-conditioned rooms and suites enjoy spectacular views over the gardens to the golf course and bushveld hills beyond. In the luxury twin and luxury family rooms, the entire bathroom was reconstructed and enlarged. Amenities now include a separate large shower cubicle which provides an intimate and private experience and a separate bath that is the ideal place to unwind. The bathrooms have double vanity units and are somewhat larger than standard hotel bathrooms. The luxury rooms at the Cascades Hotel were also given the ultra-superior treatment. Each room has its own dressing room with built in dressing table, cupboards and shoe racks. The furnishings have also been upgraded and are a tapestry of the verdant gardens and tranquil beach pool area.

HOTEL FACILITIES: The Peninsula: Superb International cuisine is on the menu at the Peninsula, the luxuriously elegant lakeside restaurant. A resident pianist entertains during dinner. Dinner for groups (1- 70 people), can be accommodated in the Peninsula Restaurant. Should the group be larger than 10 people, a pre-selected set menu is to be chosen. This restaurant offers an exquisite menu selection, whose main focus is on South African Cuisine, with an exciting blend of flavours to stimulate the senses.
Santorini: Santorini is a Greek Mediterranean restaurant situated by the pool. Serves lunch and dinner. Dress: Casual. Santorini, the Restaurant, is synonymous with the island of the same name, "a magnificent setting, bright and sunny weather, delicious cuisine, wine, exciting entertainment and a rich history. The restaurant is divided into 3 sections: Terrace & Island areas can seat up to 86 people and the main restaurant 104. Extra features to the restaurant includes a live pizza station with a classical wood burning oven in which all our pizzas will be baked but also in which the Kleftiko will be done in the traditional Greek way.
Santorini Bar: Cascades Hotel Santorini Bar Located in the Santorini restaurant, offers cocktails and full bar service.
Vistas Bar: This terrace bar, open seven days a week, with a wonderful view of the gardens and waterscapes offers a tranquil place to unwind after a hot day in the African sun.
The Peninsula Bar: The Peninsula Bar, situated adjacent to the Peninsula Restaurant, is an ideal venue to relax and enjoy pre-dinner drinks. The bar is operational on Friday and Saturday evenings from 18h00 until 23h00.

This venue is ideal for planning meetings and can accommodate up to 8 people.

4th Floor Boardroom
This venue can accommodate up to 20 people but only seats 10 people.

THE VALLEY OF WAVES AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
Royal Observatory Deck
A dinner venue under African sky overlooking the Royal Bath can accommodate up to 320 people and 550 people for a cocktail setup.

Amphitheatre
This venue is surrounded by gas torches and can accommodate up to 200 people. 

Valley of Waves
The Valley of Waves can accommodate up to 1000 people. A seperate, private beach area can accommodate up to 100 people.

Monkey Spring Plaza
Beyond the rumbling Bridge of Time lies a venue ideal for pre-dinner drinks.  Groups can easily be accommodated here before making their way to their dinner destination.

Hall of Treasures
The Hall of Treasures is a Sun City exhibition venue which can hold a maximum of 25 stands of 3X2 meters.  The venue can also be used as a cocktail, lunch and dinner venue.

Superbowl

Situated in the heart of the entertainment centre and has 12 doors leading to the venue.  Sitting capacity of 6000 for a concert.  The venue has an octagon shaped arena with a portable end stage constructed of wood and built in modules measuring 2mx1mx1.5m high.

The total stage width is 33 meters and a height of 8 meters.  The depth of the front of apron to the back of stage is 14 meters.  The superbowl has a steel grid above the stage.  The house curtain is a heavy velour and is electronically operated by a control motor. Access to the stage and dressing room is from the back of house.  The auditorium can be carpeted.

There are 2 star suites, each with sitting room, bathroom and dressing room. These suites has a communicating doors, hot and cold snacks can be provided if required, and the public does not have access to this area.  2 standard, 10 person dressing rooms and 1, 29 person dressing room are also available.  All have toilet shower facilities, and each person has a fully lit separate make up cubicle.

The control booth for lighting and sound is 35 meters away in the front of the stage, raised above the main floor.

The Royal Ballroom
This venue can be divided into 1/3 and 2/3 only

There are 13 breakaways rooms at the entertainment centre and they are situated adjoining the pre function area of the pilansberg room, door 8 and door 11 of the superbowl.
