The Cape Colony is renowned for its food, prepared with an abundance of fresh local produce and tantalizing spices to surprise and delight the palate. Bistro-style al fresco dining is offered in the Oasis Restaurant, and famous Afternoon Teas are served daily in the Lounge. Our stylish bar, Planet, provides the perfect setting for sipping champagne and cocktails under the African night sky.

Librisa Spa in Cape Town The Mount Nelson Hotel’s sparkling new Librisa Spa has become one of Cape Town’s leading day spas. Treatments are world class and have been developed uniquely for the spa. The spas signature product ranges are the locally produced Africology and Victorian Garden, Clarins and recently introduced top UK brand, Elemis. This Cape Town Spa is housed in three original late Victorian buildings, décor is an eclectic combination of timeless elegance and contemporary style. The spa facilities include: innovative changing areas containing sauna and steam baths, sensation showers and heated marble slabs. There are eight individually decorated, oversized treatment rooms, including four specially designed tandem treatment rooms; and a sun-splashed conservatory and refreshment station where guests are invited to relax and indulge in healthy snacks.

The Swimming Pools: Mount Nelson Hotel boasts two heated swimming pools within the hotel’s lush ‘urban oasis’ garden setting. The Oasis Pool is one the largest heated pools in South Africa. Centrally located, it’s perfectly suited to families, and come summer, it’s the place to see and be seen at. The Cottage Pool is reserved for guests over the age of twelve. Located in a secluded spot, it’s perfect for guests wanting to relax and enjoy some quiet time. Light lunches and drinks are served at the Oasis Pool all year round. Service is available at the Cottage Pool from November to March.
Tennis Courts: The hotel boasts two magnificent all weather flood-lit tennis courts located behind the sprawling lawns in front of the hotel. Racquets and balls are available for hire from the concierge desk at no charge. During the Festive Season (December and January), tennis tournaments are held for hotel guests to compete against one another in a friendly battle of the racquets. Cardio Tennis is also available on the tennis courts, a new fun and high energy workout for all abilities. These programmes are geared for players to get a great cardio workout while improving skills.

Fitness Centre: Mount Nelson Hotel's state of the art fitness centre is fully equipped with the latest cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Our on site trainer is available for fitness assessments and training programmes. The Mount Nelson Hotel gym's personal training facilities are also available to non hotel guests.Other features include: air-conditioning, satellite television and music. The Fitness Centre is open daily from 07h00 – 21h00.

Headquarters Hair Salon: The hair salon has been operating from the Mount Nelson Hotel for over 20 years offering a range of hairdressing options, from cutting and restyling, to colouring, conditioning and up-styling. A range of specialised Destress and After Sun treatments are also available. Opening times: Open daily from 08h30 to 17h00. Saturdays from 08h30 to 16h00. Closed Sundays.
