HOTEL DESCRIPTION: The Frail Care facilities are registered by the Department of Health as a sub-acute step down facility and are managed by a top class Nursing Manager. The fully equipped emergency room including 8 beds in private suites, are manned by qualified nurses on a 24 hourly basis and each resident has their own panic button connected to the nurse’s station in case of an emergency. There is full time security and the services of a concierge are available at all times. The spacious lounge as well as the bridge room and a magnificent dining room complete with pressed ceilings, an exercise room and heated swimming pool with beautiful gardens complete the picture. Resident and guest parking is provided and an in-house chauffeur service is also available.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: This boutique retirement development, which is centrally located to shops and within walking distance of the beaches of Sea Point, offers 37 air conditioned units on nearly 3730 m2 of prime real estate. Health Care Staffing

Nursing Manager

An experienced Nursing Sister, is responsible for the control of the nursing operation, including staff, administration and nursing.

• Her nursing duties include the following:
• Obtain and update the medical records of all residents, e.g. medication, Illnesses, GP/Specialists’ details
• Recruit, train and manage nursing staff
• Set required nursing standards
• Monitor and assess all staff as per job descriptions
• Control medicines
• Visit assisted living residents on a regular basis
• Operate clinic weekdays only
• Manage frail care facility
• Provide 24-hour emergency response

Nursing Staff and Care Givers

The level of experience of the nursing staff is a key factor in making appointments.
All Sisters, Staff Nurses and Enrolled Nursing Assistants have standard training, as well as specialised training in Geriatrics. All Care Givers have training and knowledge of basic nursing.
