HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The 4-Star Protea Hotel Victoria Junction is luxury accommodation in Cape Town that comprises 172 rooms which are divided into 24 loft rooms, 72 standard and 74 superior rooms as well as 2 rooms for GUESTS that are physically challenged. Our twin and double-bedded rooms are all able to combine to family or group units able to sleep four GUESTS in comfort. Our beds are all extra length to increase the comfort level of our GUESTS. Each room offers a compact executive desk fitted with a fax modem power point and an International electric adaptor is provided. All rooms have access to the Hotel’s high speed wireless Internet connection and vouchers for the use of this service is available from reception. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and electronic safes add comfort and functionality to each room. For additional comfort, a synthetic pillow and additional blankets are also provided in each room. Treat yourself to one of the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction’s loft rooms and imagine yourself living in New York or London where loft style living originated. Look out over the harbour and city lights from you queen-size bed or slip into a long relaxing bath in your en-suite bathroom. HOTEL FACILITIES: Our breakfast buffet, served daily from 06:30 to 10:30 gives new meaning to the phrase, being spoilt for choice. With over 100 items to choose from including home-made honeycomb, Nutella and meringue – our breakfast certainly looks at the morning meal and lives up to the ideal that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. From 12:30 to 14:30 daily you’re able to catch lighter meals in either The Set restaurant, next to the pool or in the Beach House Bar. Try a lamb burger with Humus and curried shoestring potatoes or the Guinness loaf with sugar-smoked chicken breast, tatsoi & Asian slaw. Whatever your poison – be sure to wash it down with some crisp, cold Sauvignon Blanc or a nice cold beer! If the streets out there seem daunting – stay in and join us for dinner from 18:30 to late. Our food is unpretentious and fresh, our service casual and efficient and our selection from the menu, enough to keep you entertained for a few days at least. Our summer menu offer highlights such as the sautéed lobster tail with egg noodles, the crispy roast duck breast with wok vegetables or the rack of lamb with onion marmalade. Vegetarians don’t fret; you too have plenty to choose from! In life, everyone needs something sweet to bring a warm smile to their face – with us – this comes in the form of the trio of brulé – passion fruit, coffee-chocolate and vanilla and lavender – that creamy texture with the crisp sugar coating on the top – you know you want it! The Protea Hotel Victoria Junction provides a unique urban hotel experience which is enhanced by its practical facilities and its central location. With features such as sophisticated stage and room lighting, high ceilings and independent climate control - Workshop 1 and 2 can combine to offer you capacity of up to 120 delegates. Room configuration is made flexible by means of fully soundproof partitioning.
NON STANDARD FEATURES AND FACILITIES: Couples can spend a romantic evening in one of the Cape Town hotel’s Moulin Rouge booths. Built around the idea of a romantic, more intimate alternative to dining in the main restaurant, the Moulin Rouge booths, clad in red velvet seats with romantic chandeliers will undoubtedly up your score in the romance department. With curtains that close the entrance to the booth and a subtle light that calls us when you require service – every aspect of this concept is designed around giving you quality time with your loved one! The "Out of Africa" lounge set is based on a Kenyan gentleman's cigar lounge and 'set' in the plains of the Masai Mara. The only smoking area in our public areas, the lounge serves as the start of many a morning with a “VJ” branded cappuccino or if you’re expecting a rough day – you might opt for the Lavazza espresso. Enjoy a cocktail in the early evening or a night cap and a cigar later at night. The Beach House
Designed and furnished in a typically Cape Cod style, the Beach House provides one with the opportunity of almost wanting to kick your shoes off, sitting back and forgetting about the worries of city living. With the right amount of imagination, the look and feel of the lounge will soon have you thinking that you’re sitting on the veranda of your beach house looking out over the ocean and sipping on a lazy cocktail as you watch the sun setting on yet another glorious South African day. Though the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction has quite a playful and almost “pretend” quality in terms of the movie inspired themes – the Cape Town hotel features conference rooms are functional and spacious allowing for any event to be hosted here successfully. One large venue subdivides to form two smaller venues, each with a capacity of seating about 90 – 100 GUESTS in cinema style. The combined room can easily host a dinner of up to 120 GUESTS while in schoolroom or lecture style, you would fit about the same number of delegates.
