Informal and fun, Occidental Grand Pineapple Beach is where you choose when you want to relax amidst beautiful tropical surroundings. It enjoys a prime location on the undeveloped north-east coast of Antigua, its 25-acres of gardens leading down to 1,600 feet of white sand beach lapped by the calm turquoise waters of Long Bay.

Designed to reflect its Caribbean setting, as much of the resort as possible is focused upon the breathtaking crescent-shaped bay. Indeed, almost three-quarters of the accommodations boast ocean views, whilst you’ll find restaurants, bars and swimming pools all just steps from the sands.

The 180 guest rooms are housed in two or three-storey buildings that are set either in the palm-studded gardens, poised on the panoramic hillside or strung out along the beach. Their use of rattan and vibrant fabrics underscores their general Caribbean theme.

Of course, the white sand beach is usually the daytime hub, although the sun terraces of the two oceanside swimming pools are also very popular for daytime relaxation - the beautifully landscaped ‘cascading’ pool is supplemented by an adult-only ‘tranquillity’ pool. Tennis, non-motorized water sports and a fitness centre also await for those in the mood for recreation, with the activities staff on hand to arrange a host of fun pursuits.

And naturally this fun continues long after dark, cocktails in the beachfront bar followed by dinner in a choice of three equally enticing restaurants. The live nightly entertainment program, discoteque and late-night snacks take night owls into the small hours.

ACCOMODATIONS

Standard
Located in Caribbean-style two-storey buildings towards the rear of the property close to reception. These cosy rooms feature a queensize bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower only, as well as a shared balcony or terrace with partial garden views. Maximum occupancy 2 persons.

Garden View
Located in Caribbean-style two-storey buildings in the central garden area. They feature either a kingsize, queensize or two double beds, as well as ensuite bathrooms with tubs and/or showers. Ground floor rooms boast private terraces overlooking the lawns, whilst first floor rooms boast shared balconies with partial ocean views. Maximum occupancy 4 persons.

Ocean View
Most of these rooms are located in 2 or 3-storey contemporary buildings on the hillside. These rooms feature kingsize beds, ensuite bathrooms with combined showers and tubs, as well as private balconies or terraces with ocean views. Maximum occupancy 3 persons, including 1 person on a rollaway bed.

Waterfront
Located in Caribbean-style two-storey buildings right on the waterfront. These rooms feature kingsize beds or two double beds, bathrooms with showers and/or tubs, as well as private or shared balconies or terraces with ocean views. Maximum  occupancy 4 persons

Beachfront

RESTAURANTS & BARS

From the informality of ‘Topaz’ to the elegance of ‘Chef’s Pietro’, dining at Occidental Grand Pineapple Beach is usually an alfresco beachside affair. Elaborate buffet breakfasts, delicious Caribbean barbecues, mouthwatering Italian specialities and tasty Mexican favorites all feature on the menus here, everything* included in the convenient all-inclusive plan. And, of course, that means all snacks too, whether you enjoy them right by the pool, in the rustic hillside bar with its fantastic ocean views or late at night after hitting the dance floor!

TOPAZ is the main restaurant, its casual ambience enhanced by its prime location just steps from the white sand beach. It serves buffet breakfasts, a la carte lunches and either a la carte or themed (Italian and Caribbean) buffets or barbecues.

CHEF’S PIETRO is an intimate beachfront restaurant offering a la carte Italian cuisine three evenings per week. Reservations required.

PINEAPPLE GRILL is an exciting change of scene. This air-conditioned grill is set back in the tropical gardens and offers a la carte Caribbean and Mexican specialities three evenings per week. Reservations required.

THE OUTHOUSE

This ramshackle bar known as The Outhouse is set high above the turquoise waters of Long Bay. It’s the perfect place to chill out with a soda or cold beer, the legendary Miss Mary also on hand to prepare you a delicious home-made snack. Be sure to bring your artistic talents along with you too because you’ll want to create a personalised sign commemorating your visit - just like hundreds of other guests!
