HOTEL DESCRIPTION

At the west end of New Providence lies an exquisite hideaway. A STONE'S THROW AWAY is perched on one of the highest elevations by the coast. The guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau's land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island's natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau.

The property was recently built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds.

ACCOMMODATION

The construction of the house was completed in July 2004. It accommodates 20 guests comfortably with 8 private rooms and 2 exclusive suites. Each room has a king size bed, a private bath, air conditioning and a mini bar. The rooms are also equipped with cable TV, DVD and a free of charge broadband Internet connection.

The rooms all have direct access to the large wrap-around porch. The Garden View rooms are located on the ground floor and overlook the gardens and the pool area. The Islands View rooms of the second and third floor allow a panoramic view of the island, lakes Killarney and Old Fort Bay . On a clear day, Coral Harbour located on the southern coast of New Providence looms up in the distance, seven miles away. The Ocean View rooms open up to the largest section of the porch on the ocean side of the house. There, Guests can relax on one of the antique Indonesian teak daybeds or on one of the loungers and admire the most amazing view of the Ocean and the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beach which extends from Northwest Point to Caves Point, a mile apart.

For the comfort of the Guests, they selected the best of Pottery Barn luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and the highest density towels for unmatched softness. Amenities are supplied by L'Occitane-en-Provence which Aromachologie line of products blends essential oils and natural ingredients to provide a unique purifying, relaxing and revitalizing experience.

HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES

Bar & Lounges

In the evening the lounge on the main porch offers the most relaxing and peaceful experience. There, Harriett will probably set up a second bar where she perfects the art of daiquiris and other tropical drinks. Inside, comfortable couches and a honor bar are available to the guests.

In the morning, a gourmet breakfast is served between eight and ten in the dining room. Chef Jermico will most probably decide to set up a cooking stand on the porch and prepare on demand your favorite breakfast.

During the day, gourmet snacks and daily specials are available. Simply ask Chef Jermico to prepare it for you or ask him to surprise you with a Bahamian specialty.

The Boutique

With its roots in Provence, L'OCCITANE shares the colors, scents and traditions of the south of France with the world. If you like the amenities that they provide in the bathrooms you should visit The Boutique and test more products from L'OCCITANE including fragrance, body, bath, face and hair care products.

The original beach towels by BAHAMA HAND PRINT are also available for purchase at The Boutique as well as the favorite Bahamian products including hot sauces and teas.

Massage and Salon

In order to perfect your stay, ask us to book an appointment for you with Martina, their professional masseuse. She masters the art of Japanese facials as well as Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi massages; she will welcome you at Wellness, the massage and relaxation salon located on the ground floor, next to The Boutique. Essential oils and Immortelle skincare products by L'Occitane will bring you to a peaceful and relaxing experience.

Gardens & Pools

The pool area stands high above Gambier village and other settlements of West New Providence . Unless you decide to engage in one of the numerous activities Nassau has to offer you will probably decide to rest on their quiet grounds. In the pool, the bench carved under the waterfall is the perfect location for you to enjoy a tropical drink.

For those would prefer salt water, the beach is just down the hill. They will provide you with a Bahama Hand Print beach towel and, if you ask in advance Grouper or Levaughn at the front desk, with a picnic basket to enjoy on the beach.

After the sunset, you might find that the pool deck is the perfect setting for a romantic dining experience. Ask in advance Grouper or Levaughn to organize it for you; Chef Jermico will be delighted to prepare the best Conch appetizers and to put on the grill your favorite meat or a freshly spear-fished crawfish (in season).
