SCUBA DIVING
The Cayman Islands have long been recognized as one of the premiere scuba diving locations in the world, and the Divi Tiara Beach Resort is the perfect base to begin an underwater adventure.
Divi Tiara is ideally situated to access the best diving surrounding both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, with a PADI Gold Palm dive center on site, including five custom dive boats, guest gear storage, and a fully equipped dive shop. For underwater photo enthusiasts, Tiara offers the Nikon School of Underwater Photography- a full service underwater photo and video center with equipment rental and instruction.
RESORT ACTIVITIES
Scuba Diving and underwater photography are the primary activities for guests of the Divi Tiara Cayman Brac. The on-site dive center caters to both experienced and novice divers.
Want topside adventure? Rock climbing enthusiasts are bringing attention to Cayman Brac for its sheer, vertical cliff climbing. Divi recommends bringing your own gear- and a healthy dose of courage.
Need something a little less thrilling? Kayaking, tennis, beach volleyball, guided nature tours, hiking, and a water trampoline are all available from Divi Tiara. Divi Tiara offers a full service activities coordinator to assist with island tours, and watersports equipment rental is available beachside.
Of course, we recommend our favorite activity- relaxing in a low-slung hammock on our white-sand beach, feeling the sun filter through the palms, and remembering why the Caribbean is called paradise.
ISLAND ACTIVITIES
In Cayman Brac, diving is what attracts most people to this small island. The newest attraction for divers is the wreck of the 330 ft. M/V Captain Keith Tibbetts, a Russian built Cuban naval frigate which was sunk off the island's northwest coast in September 1996. It is already the home for a variety of marine life. There are two other small wrecks off the Brac's coast.
Ashore, attractions include the Cayman Brac Museum at Stake Bay, a variety of dramatic caves; such as Rebecca's Cave, Peter's Cave and Skull Cave; nature trails; exploring the bluff and ironshore beneath it at the eastern tip; small, charming homes restored in traditional seafaring architectural styles - and the delightful people of this unusual community are its main attractions.
Fisherman will revel in shallow waters filled with bonefish and deeper offshore waters teeming with gamefish. For those simply wanting to relax, indulge yourself in the solitude of quiet beaches.
The National Trust chapter has activities scheduled throughout the year. A two - mile long nature trail on the bluff adjacent the 180 acre Parrot Reserve was opened in July 1996. Birdwatching has long been considered an excellent, if underpromoted attraction of this tiny island.
DINING
The Divi Tiara Beach Resort serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily in the casual, open-air Poseidon Restaurant. Ample breakfast buffets, and dinners of fresh local seafood are guest favorites.
The lively Turtles Bar is beachside, and serves a light bar menu of snacks and lunch foods.
