HOTEL DESCRIPTION
Raquel Hotel is located very near the Old Square, just a few meters from the San Francisco Square. The romantic ambience of the building proposed by its art nouveau style and expressive eclectic proyections highlight the architecture of the building. Its the biblical name and some of its spaces allegorically evoke the Hebrew culture. Three floors and a terrace compose the hotel. The majestic sculpture of the ground floor along with the marble columns catches the eye. It has an elegant specialized restarurant.
The Raquel’s 21 standard rooms are well-designed and tastefully decorated, done in pale, creamy colours that lend this combination a soothing and welcoming feel (The opulent drapes over the tall windows, wrought-iron beds and ornately-tiled floors do not create an austere, stuffy feeling; rather, a strangely practical and relaxed ambience is achieved). The bathrooms are spacious and feature tub showers. Couples best secure one of the mere 2 standard rooms with matrimonial beds, and those who can't do without fresh air should certainly book one of the few rooms with stone balconies (or opt for a junior suite). Fourteen rooms have views.

At the east end of a rather unappealing residential area, the Raquel's immediate surroundings are less than pretty, but the Plaza Vieja is just down the street and the hotel is about 5 blocks away from all of the more interesting places in the colonial heart of Havana. A stroll up San Ignacio takes you straight to the Cathedral of Havana.
