ROOM FEATURES
Ground Floor: These
rooms are towards the back of the hotel, behind reception.
Possibly the most original of all the rooms are found here,
with delicate paintings and decoration.
Third Floor: The floor with the biggest story to tell. The
roof of Cafe Cultura was severely damaged a few years ago
by a freak hailstorm. The roof was completely reconstructed
and rooms 18 to 24 were built here.
Garden: There are two rooms to be found in the front part
of the garden to the right hand side of the hotel. These rooms
are tremendously original. They feature a private wooden decked
area in front of them, making them at-once part and yet separate
from the garden.

HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES
On
the ground floor you will find the reception area and cafe
- bistro, together with the wood-panelled library complete
with guidebooks, papers and magazines for your use. Fires
are lit in our three large stone fireplaces every night, along
with an abundance of candles, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere,
reminiscent of colonial life. Here you can relax in the comfortable
leather armchairs, glass of wine in hand, basking in the warmth
of a crackling wood fire.
From the reception area an open-gallery staircase leads to
15 of our 26 bedrooms. Each room has been individually designed
in keeping with the style of the house and has its own en
suite bathroom. Different artists have painted modern frescoes
throughout the hotel, adding to its already unique style.
Once inside, you will immediately be seduced by the overall
atmosphere of conviviality: the perfect mix of home comfort,
the right level of discreet service, plus our own touch of
eclectic culture. Indeed, while all of our rooms have individual
features, some are more special than others with their own
fireplaces, or perhaps a sunken bath. Our honeymoon suite
boasts its own balcony - a conservatory converted into a dream-like
bathroom with an antique tub.
Ever since its opening, the unparalleled bistro-style cuisine
at Café Cultura has become legendary among local trendies
and foreigners alike. The flavours of freshly baked breads,
home-made jams, pastries and more never fail to delight the
palette of our clientele, whose sense of taste and style motivates
our staff to create masterpieces daily.
The café-bistro is open from 7 am to 9.30 pm, for breakfast,
lunch, tea and dinner. Our chef decides the daily menu with
verve and originality, always bringing new and exciting tastes
and aromas to satisfy your nouvelle-cuisine, gourmet, vegetarian
or other exotic appetites. Meals are accompanied by freshly-squeezed
fruit juices -- passion fruit, papaya or a seasonal endemic
fruit perhaps -- or a fine South American wine, or even a
classic from the Old World. Come in and check our blackboard
for today's specials!
The wood-panelled library is replete with guidebooks, newspapers
and magazines, as well as our famous (and often hilarious!)
"The Good, Bad and the Ugly" guestbooks. A fire
is lit in the library's imposing stone fireplace every night,
along with an abundance of candles. The resulting warm, cosy
atmosphere is redolent of colonial life. Here you can relax
in the comfortble leather armchairs, glass of wine in hand,
basking in the warmth of the crackling wood fire. The library
will soon include computer terminals with access to the Internet.
