The temperature of the Caribbean Sea, as that of the Atlantic Ocean is
approximately 27°C (80.6° F) and culminates with 28° 29°
(82.4 84.2°F) in the summer. There are two seasons with not precisely marked transitions. A dry season named Lent from December to May. The anticyclone of the Azores shifts towards the South. the air is drier and the showers are not very frequent. The temperature is pleasant and the trade winds are generally established. A wetter season called " wintering " from July to October, accompanied by periods of frequent and intense rains. The season of the tropical depressions and hurrican begin about July. The cyclones can be formed on the Atlantic. These extremely violent phenomena are more present in the Northern part of the West-Indian arc. Martinique, located in the middle of the arc, can be concerned by these phenomena. The sun rises towards 5 H in the morning during the summer and 6 H during the winter to set towards 17h30 and 18h30. There are 5 H time shift during the winter and 6h during the summer, between France and Martinique.
