Arrive Paro and drive to Thimphu |
The
flight into the Himalayas reveals breathtaking view of the worlds
highest peaks, taking you right into the Dragon Kingdom cloud
scraping airstrips at the lush green valley of Paro (alt.7000ft)
Your Bhutanese escort from Bhutan Ancient Tours will greet you
on arrival and drive you to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Enroute
visit the Simtokha Dzong the oldest in the Country. O/N hotel. |

02
Thimphu sightseeing |
The
day begins with a visit to National Memorial Chorten built in
memory of our late King Jigme Dorje Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang
one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. National Library,
Traditional Medicine Institute.
After lunch drive for the panoramic view of Thimphu valley on
the way back visit Handicraft Emporium and visit the capital fortress
Tashi chodzong. |

03
Thimphu – Pinakha - Wangdi |
After
early breakfast drive to Bumthang via Tongsa, visit to Tongsa
Dzong, the masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture and see Ta Dzong,
the watch tower built to defend this dzong. After lunch, proceed
to Bumthang, the religious heartland of the nation. Evening at
leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Bumthang. |

04
Punakha – Bumthang.(6hrs drive) |
After
breakfast drive to Punakha via Dochula pass.(3100 m ) marked by
a large array of prayer flags and Chorten (stupa). on a clear
day a close-up view of the Bhutan’s Highest Himalayan Mountain
ranges, bordering to China can be seen visit Punakha Dzong. After
lunch drive further to north of Punakha to visit the Khamsum yuelay
chorten which is 30 minutes walk from the road. Check in Hotel. |

05
Full day sightseeing |
Bumthang
is the general name given to complex of four valleys - Chumey, Choekhor,
Tang and Ura with altitude varying from 2,600m to 4,000m. It is
home to many of prominent Buddhist temples and monasteries. Visit
to Tamshing Lhakhang, the treasure house of interesting religious
Buddhist paintings. Then visit to Jakar Dzong, the administrative
centre of the valley.
Afternoon visit Kurje Lhakhang, one of the most sacred place. Later
visit Jambey Lhakhang, one of the oldest monastery dating from introduction
of Buddhism in Bhutan.
Evening visit to local shops. Overnight at the lodge in Bumthang. |

If
you are tired or sick of getting into the car, Bumthang is an
idle place for walking around the valley for the whole day with
your packed lunch. At the same time you can also enter act with
the local people.

06
Bumthang to Ura and Back to Bumthang |
A
drive through the beautiful valley of Bumthang will take you to
Ura, where one can visit the Ura Lhakhang.You can also visit the
Ugyen Choling Palace now converted into a museum privately owned
by a family from Tang valley. It is situated at an elevation of
3000 metres, the trek from the road takes about 45 minutes and
its 33kms from Jakar.The museum provides one to experience the
historical building and many rare exhibits. After lunch drive
back to Bumthang and evening leisure at town. |

07
Bumthang to Wangdi via Gangtey valley. |
Morning
drive to Wangdi with packed lunch via Phobjikha valley home to
endangered Blacked naked crane during winter. The valley is a
designated conservation area, because of the large flock of black
necked cranes in winter; it is one of the most important wildlife
preserves in the country. Than drive further to Wangdi. |

Wangdi – Paro. |
To
day after breakfast drive to Paro lunch will be served in Paro.
After lunch visit National Museum and Paro Dzong. If time permit
leisure in Town.
Check in Mandala Resort/Olathang. |

09
Hike to Tiger nest (Taksang Monastery). |
hike
to Taktsang monastry one of the high lights of Bhutan (Alt. 3100
) the holy cave dates back to 8th century, and the surrounding
temples built in 1692 by the 4th Desi Tenzin Rabgyal. In 1998
a fire, cause still unknown, destroyed the main structure of Taktsang
and its contains.Re-construction of temple just completed early
this year. It’s about one and half hour walk up hill to
taktsang Cafeteria. Lunch will be served here. |

TARIFF |
a. DIPLOMATS from foreign embassies/missions accredited to Bhutan
shall be given a 25% discount on the daily rates.
b. There shall be no charge for CHILDREN up to the age of 5 years.
However, those between the age of 6 to 12 years accompanied by elders/guardians
shall be given a 40% discount on daily rates.
c. Full time Students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity
cards from their academic institutions shall also be given a 25%
discount on daily rates.
d. A discount of 50% on daily rates shall be given to one person
in a group of 11 to 15 persons.A 100% discount shall be given to
one member in a group exceeding 16 persons.

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE |

There shall be no fixed charge for the number of days of delay in
arrival of visitors due to weather conditions, Druk Air problems
or road blocks except for minimum charge on hotel cancellation,
transport & guide.
b. There shall be no charge for the number of days of delay in departure
of visitor due to weather conditions, Druk Air problems or road
blocks. They will be charged only the actual expenses on accommodation,
food transport and any other services required. |
