*Tour start with a minimum of 1 persons The best preserved of the temples around Battambang, Wat Bannon lies immediately at the top of a steep laterite stairway which ascends an eighty-metre-high hill. The five prasats dating from the 11th century give it a distinctive Angkor Wat look. Climb the 337 steps to reach the temple and enjoy the breathtaking view over the surrounding plains. Ride approx 10 - 15kms Transfer by tuk tuk to the Bamboo Train station. The Bamboo train has been set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and persons. The train in itself is very basic. One platform on 4 wheels activated by a small motor. Sitting on the platform (Asian trails will provide some cushions for your comfort) you will travel the 8 km to the next station through beautiful landscape and rice paddies. On arrival, visit the village and discover the daily life of the Cambodian countryside. Return by tuk tuk to the city and visit the old town with its beautiful houses dating from the colonial time.

TOUR NAME: Unknown Bantey Chmar Temple

From October to June only with 4WD Banteay Chmar, rarely visited temple to the North-West of Angkor, was one of the capitals of Jayavarman II and dedicated to his son and four generals who were killed in battle repelling a Cham invasion in 1177. Banteay Chmar, because of its secluded location, received a few visitors only and waits to be discovered. Drive from Siem Reap approx. 150 km towards West. Visit the temple and stop at "Les soieries du Mekong", a French NGO, which provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of silk weaving. Continue to Sisophon for lunch in a local restaurant, before heading back to Siem Reap. Note: The road condition can be very difficult during the rainy season.

Depart from Siem Reap by car to cover around 60 km in the Cambodian countryside, along the Kulen Mountains. Visit of the Beng Mealea and picnic lunch. On the way back, stop to visit Banteay Srei temple before continuing to Siem Reap.
