January 18, 2005. International reserves of Kazakhstan reduced by 0.5%
The international reserves of Kazakhstan including the National Fund money (more than $5.05 billion according to preliminary estimations) made $14.27 billion as of January 14, 2005, a 0.5% reduction against December 14, the National Bank press service told KZ-today.

The international reserves reduced by 0.6% and reached $58.7 million in the first half of January.

"Despite the purchase of currency on the domestic currency market and service of the external debt of the Ministry of Finance of RK, the purchase of currency for the NF assets replenishment leaded to reduction of net currency reserves by $35.9 million," the NB's specialists noted.

Besides, gold assets reduced by $22.8 million as a result of its prices reduction on the world markets by 3%.

Reduction of the NB net international reserves in the beginning of January 2005 conditioned by money supply reduction by 15.4% (or by 89.2 billion tenge)
