Pick up you from your hotel then excursion by car to Kuangsi waterfall 32 kms to the west of Luang Prabang. On the way, visit the Hmong village Ban Na Ouane. Short walk through the forest to the waterfall. After enjoying the scenery, take a swim in one of the nearby clear pools. Below the tiered limestone pools lies the Khmu village Ban Thapene. Khmu men are especially good basket weavers and can sometimes be watched crafting.
Picnic lunch nearby the waterfall.
Return to Luang Prabang by car, on the way back stop at Ban Xiang Khong, the paper village & Ban Xieng Lek, a weaving village. |

Lunch at Soun Pak Ou restaurant at Pak Ou.
After lunch visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum housing hundreds of Buddha statues. On the way back to Luang Prabang by boat, stop at Ban Xieng Mene, just opposite Luang Prabang. Walk through the village and visit Vat Long Khoune with its beautiful mural paintings. Cross the Mekong, back in the city and transfer back to your hotel. |
