Bringing together
two well-known Maldives properties in one new resort, the
White Sands Resort & Spa encompasses an Island Village
(formerly Ari Beach Resort) and a Water Village (formerly
Dhidhoofinolhu Water Village).
A true sense of place is felt throughout the resort, which
highlights the rich tapestry of Maldivian style and culture.
Designed to compliment the natural environment; thatched roofs,
natural timbers and textiles are to be found throughout the
rooms, reception, restaurants and lounge areas
ROOM ACCOMODATIONS
White Sands Resort
& Spa provides 141 rooms with various styles of accommodation
designed to suit all guests and all budgets.
Even the most discerning traveller will be captivated by the
picturesque accommodations provided by the Over Water Bungalows
and Suites. Connected to the main island by a wooden jetty,
these timber rooms are reminiscent of traditional Maldivian
houseboats on stilts and are beautifully appointed, providing
private decks with direct access into the crystal clear lagoon.
The Island Village houses a selection of thatched Island Village
Guest Rooms and Beach Cottages nestled amongst the bright
bougainvillea and tropical gardens. Located either directly
on, or in the close proximity to the beach, all accommodation
is single storey and compliments the local environment.
DINING
With 3 restaurants
and weekly special dinner events, White Sands Resort &
Spa offers a variety of dining options. Guests at the resort
can enjoy sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in
our Vilu Mathi and Kaana Kotari restaurants, as well as an
extensive choice of snacks in our Vilu Bar & Café
or Sunset Restaurant and Bar. The a la carte dining experience
includes speciality Asian cuisine, International cuisine,
fresh ocean seafood and grilled entrees.
Vilu Mathi Restaurant
A more refined and relaxed dining experience where guests
can enjoy meals sitting out over the water with beautiful
panoramic views of the clear lagoon below. Apart from the
sumptuous buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners we also have
an attractive a la carte menu. Guests staying on the island
can also reserve a table at a small supplement for all meals.
Kaana Kotari
A casual buffet restaurant set amongst the gardens of the
Island Village with varying themes such as sizzling BBQ’s
Grills and Maldivian Nights.
Sunset Restaurant and Bar
Overlooking the beach and Indian Ocean the a la carte restaurant
comes to a life at night with the aroma of exotic seafood
Asian cuisine and specialties prepared by the Resort’s
Asian chefs. Customers throughout the resort can book their
special occasion or celebratory meal, or simply come and experience
highest levels of cuisine for which the Sunset Restaurant
and Bar is renowned.
Vilu Bar and Café
Located on the picturesque lagoon jetty of the Water Village,
Serving drinks, light meals and snacks.
Sandhuravi
Reserve your own private moonlit dinner for two on the beach
or sand bank with only the sound of the ocean and the stars
above to accompany you through this romantic evening.
Pizza Corner
Guests are tempted by the aroma of fresh oven baked Pizza
in our Pizza Corner, located in the Nagili Bar.
Beach Club
A relaxed meeting point to enjoy drinks and gourmet snacks
on the beach area.
ENTERTAINMENT
During the day
you can choose from four outlets to sip a cool fresh fruit
juice or simply relax in the company of friends. As the sun
sets over the ocean White Sands Resort & Spa comes to
life with an exciting mix of entertainment to suit all tastes.
Whether you prefer to sit quietly over a tropical cocktail
and meet new friends or dance the night away to light international
music, or join in our numerous themed nights... ‘the
choice is yours’.
Vilu Bar & Café
Open throughout the day, from your morning espresso to your
nightcap, the Vilu Bar in the Water Village is a peaceful
haven with a convivial atmosphere. The ideal meeting point
for pre dinner cocktails during our daily happy hour.
Nagili Bar and Pizza Corner
If you want to be in the thick of the action, the Nagili Bar
is the perfect night spot! Enjoy refreshing cocktails in a
friendly atmosphere. Guests are tempted by the aroma of fresh
oven baked pizza at our Pizza Corner located here.
Beach Club
Open daily, our beach side café will refresh you as
you soak up the sun or exert yourself with the comprehensive
range of water sports that are available.
Sunset
Bar
As its name suggests this is ‘the’ place to be
as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. Enjoy cocktails and
drinks all day long, as well as aperitifs and liquors when
dining in the Sunset Restaurant.
