Kanuhura is a five-star island hideaway, a unique resort, where
service is understood and luxury is elegantly understated. The
island setting is breathtaking and provides a beautiful, tropical

Built on an atoll island with two beautiful little island neighbors,
One&Only Kanuhura is a very private hideaway with a wide
range of relaxations, activities, sports, restaurants and bars.
Close by are some of the world's best diving sites, with the
outer reef dropping down nearly 2,000 meters.
The uncompromising attention to detail begins the moment guests
touch down at Malé airport, where resort staff welcome
and escort them to a private lounge to await the short seaplane
flight to Kanuhura.
One&Only Kanuhura is located on one of the islands of Lhaviyani
Atoll, to the northeast of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean.
Travel is by seaplane taxi, around 35 minutes from the International
Airport at the Maldives capital, Malé. The island measures
approx. 1000 meters in length and 200 meters in width, with
a North-South orientation. |
ACCOMMODATION
The beauty
of the tropical surroundings blends perfectly with design of
the accommodations at One&Only Kanuhura. All the Villas
and Suites are built from natural materials and are equipped
with tasteful solid timber furniture of the highest quality.

Mealtimes
offer an excellent choice of restaurants, bars and food. The
finest ingredients are imported from all over the world, while
fresh fish and seafood come directly from the clear waters of
Lhaviyani Atoll. The resort has sourced an interesting selection
of international wines to complement the delectable cuisine.
The main restaurant, Thin Rah, open for breakfast and dinner,
features "open cooking stations" where guests enjoy
a whole new dining experience watching the master chefs at work.
Savor the best of international delights including Maldivian,
Sri Lankan, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Malay,
Italian or Continental specialties.
The Olive Tree offers traditional Mediterranean food in a contemporary
setting with taste and variety.
For extra privacy, guests can take advantage of Kanuhura's "In-Villa"
dining service to feel thoroughly pampered. Romantic dinners
can be arranged on the veranda or beach area in front of guests’
villas or at various picturesque locations around the island.

Bar or after-dinner drinks and music at Havana Lounge.
THIN RAH
The main restaurant at One&Only Kanuhura, Thin Rah offers
expansive buffets with a different theme each day and live cooking
stations where our chefs prepare individual dishes for guests.
Enticing choices include fish, seafood and regional specialties,
fusion dishes, sushi and sashimi, exotic salads and fruits from
markets around the world, homemade ice creams and selections
for younger guests.
Tables are set in the airy open-sided interior of the thatch-roofed
restaurant or out on the beach overlooking the lagoon and poolside
for al fresco breakfasts and evenings under the stars.
OLIVE TREE
Olive Tree brings you à la carte dishes from throughout
the Mediterranean and features an open pizza oven. Specialties
are fresh pastas, salads and a mouthwatering selection of freshly
caught grilled seafood and steaks. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere
of the restaurant itself, or take a poolside table for a romantic
candlelit dinner as a glowing sunset fades to a myriad of twinkling
stars.
VELI CAFE & BEACH BAR
In a stunning location at the northern tip of the island is
the Veli Café. Creative Asian Fusion cuisine is served
for dinner at this romantic beachside restaurant which overlooks
the lagoon and the reef.
HANDHUVARU BAR
Cool off with a chilled drink in the shade, while you relax
your feet in the sand or enjoy the sunshine around the pool.
A selection of cocktails, beers, wines by the glass, and fresh
juices are available throughout the day, complemented by an
all-day snack menu of international favourites.
HAVANA LOUNGE
A tropical Eastern ambience is created with canopied seating,
over-sized daybeds, sheesha pipes, dancing candlelight and chilled
music. Indulge in the creative cocktail menu of after-dinner
drinks with occasional live music.
NASHAA CLUB
The Maldives' first nightclub, Nashaa Club is hidden away at
the far end of the island and provides a tropical atmosphere
for dancing the night away to international hits and old favourites

In a cozy, air-conditioned room, Karaoke evenings, big-screen
sporting events and weekly movie showings can be enjoyed. The
Lava Lounge can also be used as a conference or meeting room

hair care, manicure, pedicure and personalized make-up. Aerobics,
meditation and workouts at the Gymnasium are also part of the
spa.

SPA AND FITNESS
The
One&Only Spa is the largest state-of-the-art spa in the
Maldives. Spa products and oils are specially blended with fragrant
essential oils, flowers, spices, herbs and plants from all over
the world. An à la carte menu of treatments and indulgences
draws on classical therapies, complemented by exclusive Maldivian
treatments, some based on indigenous island ingredients.
There are eight beautifully appointed treatment rooms complete
with private outdoor garden shower. Four treatment rooms have
been designed for couples to share the One&Only Spa experience.

The Aerobics Studio is equipped with a dynamic audio-visual
system and has a sprung floor. Weekly classes are held in Body,
Mind & Soul Fitness schedules. The Gymnasium is well-equipped
with individual weight machines, free weights, bikes, treadmills,
and stair masters.

are held in a spectacularly beautiful setting
offering the perfect opportunity to experience yoga for the
first time or practice already learned techniques. |
DIVING
The natural
splendor of the Maldives is only surpassed by the stunning beauty
of its underwater world. The outer reef at Kanuhura drops down
to more than 1200 meters below sea level, offering an immensely
rich diversity of marine life.
In just 10 to 60 minutes from Kanuhura guests can reach over
40 dive sites, among them two shipwrecks and a manta point.
Kanuhura's outer atoll location and undisturbed dive sites lie
far from other resorts and shipping routes, making it possible
to enjoy some of the best diving and snorkeling anywhere in
the Maldives.
The Sun Dive Center, awarded the prestigious PADI Gold Palm
status in recognition of excellent facilities and tuition, rigorous
safety standards and expertise, caters for experienced divers
with excursions to unique dive sites, and offers newcomers a
first class introduction to diving. For the more experienced,
Nitrox diving is available. |
RECREATION
Whether
a complete beginner or an experienced sailor, Kanuhura's huge,
protected coral-free lagoon offers some of the finest windsurfing
and catamaran sailing conditions in the world.
The Dolphin Watersports Center is a member of the VDWS (International
Association of Windsurfing Schools). All equipment is top quality
and maintained to the highest standards, including 16 HiFly
windsurf boards with 19 ART Sails, 3 Topcat catamarans, canoes,
pedalos, water-skis, and kneeboards.
Tennis courts are floodlit for evening play, and the squash
court is fully air-conditioned. An instructor is available as
a playing partner or for coaching sessions. |
