A
Safari specially designed for those who are hard pressed for time.
The trip starts from Islamabad and after an ascending flight through
the picturesque valley of Kaghan, a coffee stop at Shogran - a
tranquil summer retreat, proceeds to Fairy Meadows, over flying
the legendary Lake Saif ul Maluk and the Old Silk Route across
Babu Sar Pass where the scenery becomes most dramatic. Lunch is
served at Fairy Meadows a breath taking lovely spot with superb
climate offering magnificent views of the North Face of Nanga
Parbat, the ninth highest peak of the world. From Fairy Meadows
the helicopter flies to Deosai, skirting Nanga Parbat along the
Astor valley. The flight over Deosai, a treeless wilderness at
13,000 feet whose air is impregnated with the scent of wild flowers,
is a superb experience. You will be seeing Sheosar and Satpara
Lakes and if lucky enough the Brown Beers. The flight shall terminate
at Shangrila Skardu. On the second day you will be flown to Concordia,
over flying the panoramic Shigar Valley and the spectacular Braldu
Gorge. At Paiju, the mouth of Baltoro Glacier, you will be able
to see the finest rock pinnacle in the world - The Great Trango
Towers. At Concordia, an amphitheatre, you will be seeing the
four out of the fourteen peaks, which rise above 26,500 feet.
From Concordia you will be flown back to Skardu and after lunch
will depart for Islamabad via Skardu Gilgit Canyon and the Karakoram
Highway.
