Island Tours
One of our most popular tours is to the neighboring island of Apo. Not only good for divers, non-divers can also enjoy a trek up to the lighthouse on top of the island where views back to Negros can be seen. You can also wander through the village to the marine sanctuary where snorkeling is world class.
Night Life in Dumaguete
Dumaguete might not be the nightlife capital of the Philippines, but it still features some good bars and hangouts, frequented by both foreigners and Filipinos, especially along the sea front boulevard. Some places offer live music several times a week.
Dry Caving
Mabinay is an upland municipality situated 100 kilometers north of Atmosphere Resort, right near the provincial boundary of Negros Oriental and Occidental. It is known to have some of the primary caving networks in the Philippines. There are about one hundred or more caves found so far in this municipality. To date, 45 caves have been explored by experts, some of the caves have subterranean rivers and a few are selected for the public to see with the help of an experienced guide. Make it into a full day trip with cave exploration, a visit to the Mabinay market and lunch. About 3 hours away.
Bais Dolphin and Whale Watching
Bais is fast becoming a national attraction and has gained popularity among travelers, both local and foreign, because of its appealing combination of activities. Tañon Strait between Negros and Cebu islands is the natural habitat of several whale and dolphin species that you can watch from the boat. You may encounter the Pan Tropical Spotted Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins and Long Snouted Spinner Dolphins, Melon Headed Whales, Short finned Pilot Whales, Pygmy Sperm Whales, Pygmy Killer Whales and Dwarf Sperm Whales. Travelling to Bais takes about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Quad Bikes
Driving quad bikes through streams, over rocks and in the forests while enjoying stunning views (and getting a good workout!) is one of the most fun adventures around Dumaguete. Chose to either make it an adventure on its own, or use the quad bikes to take you to some of the other attractions like the Casaroro Waterfalls or the Geothermal Plant which are within reach.
The Twin Lakes
Famous for their shapes, the lakes are two small but deep crater freshwater lakes rising 300 meters above sea level and separated by a narrow mountain ridge, situated in a hollow between four mountains. The majestic and serene lakes slowly unfold before your eyes with the silhouette of the mountains behind it. While here, you can go kayaking on the clear waters and you’ll see and hear many wild birds. In the surrounding forests, you can see rare flowers and plants. Travel to the Twin Lakes takes about 2 hours.
Balanan Lake
A deep freshwater lake found in the mountains of Barangay Sandulot in Siaton, southern Negros. The lake is bounded by mountain ranges and fed by three streams and the area - as well as the ride there through the mountains - is very pretty. Activities offered are fishing, kayaking and boat riding, and hiking along the pathways around the lake. Just down from the lakes are three plunge pools set within the hillside and trees which are perfect for a refreshing swim after your walk around the lakes. There is a small shop which sells drinks and keeps bathrooms. Travelling to Balanan Lake takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
The Geothermal Plant
About 20 percent of the power in the Philippines comes from geothermal plants, which are made possible by the abundant volcanic activity on the islands. One of the larger ones is situated close to the cute town of Valencia, about 30 minutes from the resort towards the mountains. We may get a permit to enter and see how it operates, and it is also close to many other attractions which make for a great day trip.
Casaroro Waterfalls
A 40 meter tall single column of water drops into a swimming basin of very cold water that is surrounded by steep rock walls. Constantly misty and very green, the site is stunning and a very popular excursion site. Access to the falls is currently being improved to accommodate those who want to spend their day there. Be aware though that there are 300 something steps to get down to the falls - and to get back up... Luckily, you can freshen up with a brisk swim in the cool mountain water before you start your climb back up. Travel to Casaroro takes about 1 hour.
Golf
A sport not far from the locale residents' hearts. The presence of two golf courses is a testimony to the people's love of the sport. Every year, golfing activities and tournaments are organized for all enthusiasts.
