March to May is hot and dry. June to October is rainy, November to February is cool. Average temperatures: 78°F / 25°C to 90°F / 32°C; humidity is 77%.
LANGUAGES
Two official languages --- Filipino and English. Filipino which is based on Tagalog, is the national language. English is also widely used and is the medium of instruction in higher education.
Eight (8) major dialects spoken by majority of the Filipinos: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon or Ilonggo, Bicol, Waray, Pampango, and Pangasinense.

BOHOL - Chocolate Hills which are 1,268 prefectly cone - shaped hills, is the most natural attraction to be found in Bohol, but along its coastlines numerous isles ( Panglao, Pamilican, Cabilao, Jao, Mahanay and Lapinin) which are excellent dive spots, are also noteworthy of recognition. |

CEBU - The historically rich province of Cebu is where Ferdinand Magellan planted a cross to mark the spot where some 800 natives were baptize into the Catholic faith. The original cross is now encased in a hollow hardwood cross and can be found in a roofed kiosk along Magallanes Street. As a baptismal gift to Queen Juana, Magellan gave a black image of the infant Child which on April 27,1565 manage to remain unscathed after a fire razed Cebu to the ground. The Basilica Minor del Santo Nino was built by Captain Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Fr. Andres Urdaneta on the spot where the miraculous son was found. Aside from its history and its beautiful beaches, in nearby Mactan Island, Cebu is also famous for its Sinulog Festival, which is celebrated in honor of the Infant Jesus of Senor Santo Nino.

SIQUIJOR - The island province of Siquijor is known for the legends of mythical creatures supposedly living in the island. Siquijor is also known for its folk healing festival where Herbalist from all over the Visayas and Mindanao meet in the town of San Antonio and medical potions are commonly prepared, using the traditional method practised since ancient times. Ironically the province is also home to the Centuries-Old Catholic Churches ( situated in the towns of Siquijor, Mari, San Juan, Larena and Lazi).
