55 kilometres from the Bandaranaike International Airport and
28 kilometres from Colombo"s Liberty Cinema lies the picturesque
Hotel Blue Water, the newest attraction to Wadduwa, the quiet
and charming town in which the hotel is located.
Designed
by reputed architect Geoffrey Bawa, the main theme for the hotel
is his artistic use of water which gives Blue Water its name.
Mini ponds, streams, fountains and waterways dot the surroundings
whilst the entrance corridor is flanked by water on either side.
The water within the building flows into the resort giant swimming-pool
which winds through the main lobby area and is estimated to be
one of the largest in Asia. This magnificent pool holds around
550,000 gallons of water which is five times the amount usually
found in a resort pool.
ACCOMMODATION:
Blue Water consists of 96 standard rooms and four deluxe
suites whose decor is a combination of wooden fittings and
cool terracotta flooring. Each room has a scenic view of
the beach and is fitted with luxurious baths, modern equipment
inclusive of a mini fridge, four channel piped music and
television with dish antenna.
RESTAURANT
: Other facilities on offer are the main restaurant
specializing in both Eastern & Western cuisine, air-conditioned
bar with karaoke, open-air coffee shop, a futuristic discotheque,
conference hall and a pool bar.
