WEATHER AND CLIMATE IN TAJIKISTAN

The nation's mountainous terrain and numerous valleys give it a highly changeable climate. In general, the best times to visit are March-May and September-October, when temperatures are in the 70s and 80s F/21-32 C. Avoid visiting in the summer. In spite of the altitude, daytime temperatures of up to 105 F/40 C have been recorded and occasional dust storms make life unpleasant. Winters (November-March) can be cold, though generally not severely so. Take a sweater for the cool evenings, even in the summer.
