| HOTEL DESCRIPTIONS |
The
Resort is set on the outskirts of the village, in 3 acres of landscaped
riverside land on the south bank of the river. It is 500 metres
downstream from the main road/river bridge. Constructed in modern
Thai style from local materials, the resort is designed primarily
to cater to families. The main building houses a the lobby, downstairs
coffee area, bar, air-conditioned seminar / conference room, reception,
gift shop, tour office and public toilets. Stairs lead up to a 100
sq. metre wood-floored Thai-style restaurant overlooking a grassed
area that functions as a riverside terrace. Additional facilities
include a gymnasium and sauna plus a supervised children’s
play school, and the Student Centre.
The Resort is located 173 kms (3 hrs) north of Chiang Mai, and 90
kms (1.5 hrs) from Chiang Rai on the banks of the Maekok River,
in the Thai-Burma border village of Ban Thaton. Ban Thaton is the
traditional halfway point on the north’s most popular tourist
route, that which runs between Chiang Mai – The Golden Triangle
& Chiang Rai. It is also the boarding point for the well established
long tailed boat / bamboo raft / river barge & canoe trips between
Ban Thaton & Chiang Rai. |

| ROOM FEATURES |
Pool
Side Suites : 20 suites in three single storey buildings
surround a 6x12m. metre swimming pool. Each suite is
app. 48 sq. metres in area and includes a spacious verandah
fronting onto the pool.
Suites
have a sleeping area and lounge area, are air-conditioned
and equipped with satellite TV, (7 English language
channels) IDD phone, 6 cu.ft. refrigerator.
Although
designed primary for 2 people they will take an extra
bed and have a connecting door to the next suite to
enable suites to be easily to modified to accommode
a family of 5-6 people.
Bathrooms
have a dressing room area, walk in clothes cupboard,
hot water shower, washbasin and European style toilet,
and are identical to those in our villas.
Accommodation
& access for the handicapped : One of the Pool Side
Suites has an additional bathroom designed specifically
for use by the handicapped. Doors are widened to suit
and ramp access is provided where necessary. This particular
suite is designed as a connecting room. |

| HOTEL FACILITIES & AMENITIES |
The
Restaurant, The Paddy Fields Restaurant overlooks the river and
terrace. The well explained 100+ dish menu (Thai & Western food)
encourages you to ‘try something different’. The Rice
Mill Bar, Uncommon for the provincial areas, the bar is well stocked
with beer, spirits, wines and cocktails, and it stays open until
late – as one might expect where the management is Irish. The
Facilities : 24-hr and Overnight laundry service, Swimming pool(s),
Herbal sauna, massage room & gymnasium, Children’s play
centre, International telephone service (0700 hrs to 2400 hrs),
Access to email and Internet service, Mountain bike hire, Canoe
hire, Motorcycle or Jeep hire (forward booking only), Guide hire
