Tour Description The tour starts in the early morning with a flight from Helsinki to Kemi. Transfer by taxi to the hotel Merihovi, where buffet breakfast is served. After breakfast our guide will come to pick you up for the adventure of your life. Equipped with warm thermal clothing you will join a snowmobile safari first to a Lappish kota tent, where you will have a short reindeer ride and a coffee break. Then your snowmobile ride continues through the frozen landscape on the ice to the icebreaker Sampo, where the 4 hour cruise begins. The ship is designed for extreme conditions as well as its' crew has been trained to work in these circumstances. The ship's secrets are revealed on a guided tour. Visit the engine room, stand on the bridge and admire the Arctic view on deck. A lunch is served on board (either salmon soup or sautéed reindeer). On the open sea the ship stops and you can move onto the ice. The feeling aroused by the deep, quiet sea under the ice below your feet is unforgettable. You can even try ice swimming dressed in a watertight thermal suit. All participants on the cruise will be awarded a diploma. The tour ends next to the SnowCastle, where you have about one hour to spend on your own. The SnowCastle is open daily from January 28th. Evening flight to Helsinki.
