Few
German hotels can claim a history as rich as that of the Hotel
Elephant, which was first officially documented in 1542. The
'Elephant' was the social and cultural focus of Weimar at the
close of the 17thcentury. Goethe, Liszt, J.S. Bach, and Leo
Tolstoy, to name but a few, were patrons and contributed to
the hotel's sterling reputation.
After
a complete renovation in 1993, our hotel reopened as a 5-star
deluxe hotel and joined the Starwood family in 2000. With 99
luxurious guest rooms and suites, renowned restaurants and bars,
and a famous art collection, the Hotel Elephant is a truly unique
establishment. |

renovated in 1993, the hotel features 99 guest rooms and suites
designed in the elegant Bauhaus style. Works of contemporary
artists such as Elvira Bach, Markus Lupertz, Rainer Fetting,
Georg Baselitz, A.R. Penck, Sandro Chia and Hans Peter Adamski
decorate the walls of guest rooms, suites and the hotel's
public areas.

Our restaurant Anna Amalia offers a combination of German
and Italian gourmet cuisine. Regional specialties from Thuringia
are served in the historic Elephantenkeller. Marlene Bar offers
a place to relax with snacks, drinks, or cocktails and piano
music while enjoying the view over Weimars Historical Marketplace. |
