HOTEL DESCRIPTION: The shining white of the buildings blends superbly with the tropical green of the garden, with the lilac and red of the bougainvillea and the hibiscus and the sparkling blue-green of the Mirabello Bay. The Istron Bay is a family-run hotel that is run by people who really love what they are doing.
The family members who work in the hotel likewise regard their long-serving employees as members of the family as well. This means that everybody works with the same feeling of giving hospitality and taking responsibility. The Istron Bay Hotel has a very personal atmosphere, so that its guests feel right at home and are glad to come back again and again. Our guests are made welcome with a presentation of fruit and wine in their rooms and are personally invited to a cocktail party by the hotel management.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: Standard:
Standard rooms with a view of the sea, balcony or terrace, welcome basket, individual air conditioning/heating, bath/WC, bath towels, hair dryer, telephone with direct line, minibar, satellite TV, radio, room safe. These rooms are located in the main building.
Superior: Superior rooms with a view of the sea in the upper floors, balcony or terrace with sunshade and deckchairs for sunbathing, VIP welcome basket, individual air conditioning/heating, bath/WC, bath towels, hair dryer, telephone with direct line, minibar, satellite TV, radio, room safe, for 2 to 3 persons (convertible couch bed for the 3rd person).They are bigger and have a corner seat with sofa, plus a bathrobe service. Guests who have booked half-board can take their evening dinner in the "Meltemi" gourmet restaurant.
Apartments: Apartments, facing the sea with either a view of the sea or the garden, in maisonette style or two rooms with connecting door; (a bedroom and a combined living room/bedroom with sofa), VIP welcome basket, cooking facilities/refrigerator, bath/shower, WC, telephone with direct line, satellite TV, radio, minibar, balcony or terrace with sunshade and deckchairs for sunbathing, individual air conditioning/heating, hair dryer, bathrobe service, rental safe. Guests who have booked half-board can take their evening dinner in the "Meltemi" gourmet restaurant
Junior Suites: Junior Garden suites, luxurious and in an especially quiet extra building, facing the sea with either a view of the sea or the garden . Suites with sleeping/seating corner with pull-out couch, furnished with modern furniture in the Aegean style, suitable for four persons, VIP welcome basket, bath/shower, WC, telephone with direct line, satellite TV, radio, minibar, balcony or terrace with sunshade and deckchairs for sunbathing, individual air conditioning/heating, hair dryer, bathrobe service, rental safe. Guests who have booked half-board can take their evening dinner in the "Meltemi" gourmet restaurant.
HOTEL FACILITIES: Last but by no means least, the Istron Bay Hotel is also a favourite of our guests due to its excellent cooking that runs the gamut of traditional Cretan and Mediterranean specialities. The "Greek Academy of Taste " (Elliniki Akademia Geusis) that aims to revive traditional-style cooking in hotels and restaurants was founded in our hotel in 1997.
The healthy methods and ingredients of Cretan cooking are fully endorsed by us. Today we are also committed to bringing the traditional Greek cuisine up to date for modern times. We offer the "Cretan diet" as a half-board option, or a la carte in the restaurants of our hotel, each one having its very own special character.
