HOTEL DESCRIPTION: There is a legend that over seven hundred years ago a quiet man by the name of Kerrew was driven out of his home in Malta by his less-spiritual neighbours. He fled to the coast, but thanks to his mystical powers he crossed the sea to Comino upon his mantel, laying a curse upon his awestruck pursuers as he left. He befriended a hermit by the name of Abulafia on Comino, where he stayed for some time. Eventually he moved on to Gozo, where he continued to live until his death. It is said that not long afterwards the plague and other misfortunes befell the islands.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: Comino Hotel offers 95 bedrooms on two floors, many of which have recently been refurbished. 49 have stunning seaviews, with the sea less than 20 metres away. The other bedrooms offer tranquil and delightful garden views on the other side of the Hotel. All of them are spacious and well-lit with their own private balcony and en suite facilities. The rooms are either twin bed or double bed, with several rooms offering the possibility of interconnection. There are two suites with enhanced accommodation. The rooms have individually-controlled air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone, TV and radio, and mini-bar. There are also shaver outlets and hairdryers. Power is 240 volt A/C 50 cycles.
The cluster of bungalows comprises 46 units, all with twin or double beds and a living room, almost all of which have seaviews. The bungalows are air-conditioned, and have private shower / WC facilities, shaver outlets, TV / radio, direct-dial telephone, and mini-bar. All units have their own private terrace. There is a large swimming pool with its own deck area and a private rocky beach for residents. Breakfast is served at the Club Nautico Restaurant and Terrace, which allows guests the pleasure of fresh air and stunning views whilst they enjoy their meal. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the Bungalows to the Hotel, or a two-minute journey in our mini-van if you prefer it.

HOTEL FACILITIES: Blue Lagoon Restaurant: This is the Hotel’s focal indoor restaurant, where diners help themselves from the large Buffet tables. It is spacious and welcoming, with extensive window space ensuring superb sea views throughout.
The Blue Lagoon restaurant can seat up to 230 guests at a time, and there is a large and varied fare at all meals.
For Lunch and Dinner there are always two meat dishes, and also fish, vegetarian, salads and side dishes, preceded by soup and pasta. There are several desserts and cheeses to round off your meal.

Serving times are as follows :

Breakfast 7.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.
Lunch 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.
Dinner 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

Special requests can normally be accommodated if so required.

Rotunda: You can find the Rotunda, so-called for its entirely round shape, just outside the Blue Lagoon restaurant. We consider it to be an annexe of the restaurant as you are welcome to take your meal with you to the Rotunda if you prefer dining outdoors. It can seat up to 200 people under a bamboo cover which allows guests to eat outside yet affords them the shade which increases the enjoyment of dining. Barbeques are held weekly and they are one of the highlights of this area. The Rotunda is ideal for all sorts of private functions, including barbeques for incentive-travel clients.
The Terrace: Just in front of the main restaurant, and overlooking San Niklaw Bay, guests can sit outside in the fresh air under umbrella cover and enjoy the magnificent views of the sea, Gozo to the North and our private sandy beaches. The terrace is the perfect spot for a chat and a drink with friends. A variety of snacks is available throughout the day, and guests are free to take their meals outside on to the terrace should they wish to do so.
Club Nautico: This is our name for the overall facilities at the Bungalows. Here breakfast is served both indoors at the restaurant and also on the beautiful terrace overlooking Santa Marija Bay. The main meals of lunch and dinner are served at the Hotel. Guests have bar facilities throughout the morning and into the afternoon. During the peak season, we serve lunchtime snacks from the bar, which has its own terrace. It is a perfect spot for private functions, especially outdoors, where you can take full advantage of the beautiful location and fantastic views.
The Tower: By special arrangement with Din l-Art Helwa, the Maltese National Trust which administers Santa Marija Tower, the Hotel organises a banquet once a week inside the Tower. The event is a private one restricted to Hotel guests, and includes a tour of the Tower as well as viewing the glorious sunset from the roof, where the taking of photos is encouraged. The arrangement allows us to cater for special functions in this truly unique and historical building.
The Lobby Bar/Internet Café: The Lobby Bar provides all types of refreshments, including snacks, ice creams and cocktails, in a spacious and relaxed atmosphere daily from 9.00 a.m. right through to midnight. Towards the rear of this outlet, we also provide round-the-clock Internet access for all those who require quick and reliable outside communication.
Tennis: Tennis is a game of fun and skill for people of all ages. We offer no fewer than four courts at the Hotel side of the island, with two more courts at the Bungalows. Three of the Hotel courts and both Bungalows courts are Canada-Tenn sand-based, and one of the Hotel courts is floodlit. This allows our more active guests to participate competitively against each other, and the Hotel often hosts a variety of tournaments.
