| The Café Americain as you see her today was opened in 1902. The Tiffany lamps, the murals featuring Shakespeare’s Midsummer night’s dreams and the reading tables are all original characteristics of the Café Americain. For over a hundred years the Café Americain has been and still is a place to meet for writers, musicians, actors and other artist and above all for the local population and international visitors. The Café Americain is the only Art Deco styled restaurant in Amsterdam. We would like you to visit and experience the charm and beauty of the Café.

| The perfect location to enjoy the best cocktails from Amsterdam mixed by our award winning bartenders. Choose a cocktail from the menu or let them surprise you. You can meet in the bar for pre or after dinner drinks. Watch the Leidseplein from the full window front. In the summer you can enjoy the nice weather with family, friends or colleagues on the terrace.
The Bar Americain serves appetizers and main courses. Ask the bartenders for the traditional Dutch “borrel hapjes”.

| Jazz Brunch |
On Sunday the 2nd of April 1995 the American Hotel introduced the Live Jazz Brunch and because of its big success the Café Americain is opened every Sunday from 12.30 till 15.30 with live jazz music.
The Live Jazz Brunch consists of different buffets with a wide variety of starters, main courses and desserts based on the season. You will enjoy this exceptional brunch in a swinging ambiance accompanied by Jazz musicians playing live music while our Chef makes his special meals at the buffet. The welcome cocktail and coffee or tea at the end of this musical brunch.
