HOTEL DESCRIPTION
The
Pestana Carlton Park Hotel boasts a spectacular clifftop location,
overlooking the harbour and close to the centre of Funchal. It
is part of a development that incorporates Madeira’s casino
and a large purpose-built conference centre. Conceived by the
world famous architect, Oscar Niemeyer, the entire complex is
a masterpiece of modern design and construction.
This magnificent example of modern art is characterised by an
integration of space and daylight, while the hotel lobby, the
largest of its kind in Portugal, represents a combination of art,
space and nature surrounded by the exotic flowers of Madeira.
Most rooms have a view of the sea, apart from the island-view
rooms which face the main street of Funchal.

FACILITIES: For
your enjoyment and recreation there is an open air heated
swimming pool is set in the middle of the hotel’s own
gardens with a separate section for children as well as 2
tennis courts, children’s playground with supervised
activities in the summer months. There are also billiards,
table tennis, sauna and gymnasium, massage and library. |
In
the grounds of the hotel you will find the only Casino on the
island, the Casino da Madeira. Recently refurbished, with a tropical
atmosphere, it offers a slot machine room with over 200 machines,
a bar and restaurant serving Latin American specialties, a gaming
room with Roulette and Black Jack, plus the panoramic restaurant
featuring international floor shows during dinner.
On the ground floor is the Copacabana Bar with an entirely tropical
theme and live music by its resident band. The hotel also has
a number of fine restaurants such as the Rio Restaurant, Panoramic
Restaurant and Bahia Restaurant. Hotel bars include the Sunset
Bar, Rendez-vous Bar and Cypress Bar.
At the pool area serving drinks while you relax in the sun.Other
facilities at the hotel include several boutiques such as a Hairdresser,
Beauty Center and Flower Shop. A Car Hire Service is available
at reception and a car rental office is located in the lobby area.

is available 24 hours a day for breakfast, warm and cold drinks
and à la carte meals.
The hotel provides laundry service for guests from Monday
