HOTEL DESCRIPTION: One of St. Petersburg's best known and biggest 3-star hotels, the 735-room Hotel Moscow is a large modern property in the centre of the city with excellent transport links. Built in 1964, the Moscow Hotel was well known to Intourist guests in the Soviet era, and has since undergone several refits, the latest of which has given the hotel a wide range of accommodation options, from basic 3-star standard rooms to better equipped and more stylish Comfort Rooms, which have a full range of up-to-date amenities including WiFi access. The Moscow is one of the few three-star hotels in St. Petersburg to have its own fitness centre with gym and swimming pool, and the hotel also offers extensive facilities for business travelers, including conference and meeting venues, and a reasonably well equipped business centre. Located on the banks of the Neva River at the eastern end of Nevsky Prospekt, the Moskva Hotel is right next to the famous Alexander Nevsky Monastery, which has beautiful baroque and neoclassical churches, as well as a cemetery that contains the graves of many great figures, including Tchaikovsky and Dostoevsky. The Moscow Hotel is also right on top of a metro station, giving fast access to all corners of the city.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: There are 825 guest rooms at the Moscow Hotel, ranging from compact singles to spacious three-room suites. All rooms feature modern furniture and fittings, and Comfort rooms have recently been renovated so that they fully meet guest expectation for international standard 3-star accommodation.
HOTEL FACILITIES: The size and central location of the Moscow Hotel make it a popular venue for business meetings and celebrations, with 12 varied spaces for all types of conferencing, banqueting, and negotiations available. All the Moscow Hotel's conference halls are simply decorated and fitted with smart modern furniture.
Breakfast at the Moskva Hotel is served in the large ground-floor Moskva Restaurant between 8am and 10am daily. There is a wide choice of fresh dishes, and plenty of seating for all the hotel's guests. The large, split-level restaurant works throughout the day, serving up typical hotel fare, and features live music every evening. Monplaisir Restaurant - On the hotel's first floor, the Monplaisir is designed to resemble a French terrace, and offers a buffet lunch from 12pm to 4pm, and an a la carte menu of traditional Russian and European dishes in the evening. Salt and Pepper Restaurant - This cozy, 80-seater restaurant on the first floor of the Moscow Hotel offers an extensive menu of good-quality European dishes in a relaxing, dark wood interior. Blini Bar - The Moscow Hotel also has a Lobby Bar, offering a wide range of imported beers, wines and spirits, plus a decent selection of teas and coffees. |
