Special Events
The highlight of the cultural year in Scotland is the Edinburgh Festival, which runs during the last two weeks of August and the first week of September. Accommodation in Edinburgh is booked up months in advance at this time. There are also many Highland Games during the summer, which include caber-tossing and hammer-throwing competitions.
