HOTEL DESCRIPTION: The largest of our three hotels in Aberdeen, the Thistle Aberdeen Altens is conveniently located just south of the centre, making it one of the city’s premier business venues and the ideal base for a city break. Aberdeen is a hard-working city – it’s not called the Energy Capital of Europe for nothing – but like our other Aberdeen hotels, Thistle Aberdeen Altens is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We have 216 bedrooms including a suite, and 12 meeting rooms, the largest seating 400 people theatre-style, making this one of the city’s best party venues. Aberdeen suffers like most cities from a parking shortage, so our 300 free on-site car parking spaces are a real bonus. And when you’ve worn yourself out with all the things to do in Aberdeen, our Otium Health & Leisure Club offers indoor pool, sauna, spa, beauty treatments, as well as a complete range of fitness facilities.

You can choose a Standard, Deluxe or Executive room, or even our Suite, with its separate lounge area, depending on your needs and budget. Some of our rooms have been recently refurbished to give them a more contemporary, spacious and welcoming feel: BT Openzone wireless broadband is now available throughout the hotel. Meanwhile, our Cairngorm Bar serves a wide range of drinks, snacks and light meals in informal surroundings – perfect between meetings, after work or before dinner. And if you’re starting early, or staying up late, our full room service menu means you can always get hold of a drink, snack or light meal, even out of hours. Thistle Aberdeen Altens is one of our area’s prime locations for conferences and business meetings. We’re conveniently located close to A90 and A956, and within a short drive of the airport and railway stations.
We have 12 meeting rooms, offering plenty of natural light to create a comfortable, productive environment. Our largest room, the Rubislaw Suite seats up to 350 theatre style. We have 5 smaller syndicate rooms perfect for boardroom presentations and an additional 6 other versatile meeting rooms suitable for seminars, team briefings and board meetings. We offer a full range of food and drink during your time with us, including a range of healthy options. Arrival drinks, elevenses, buffet lunches and afternoon tea can be served in your room. Please talk to our dedicated Meetings & Events team who are here to help you put together a package to suit your exact requirements, and provide practical assistance from start to finish. Thistle Aberdeen Altens offers its guest’s a range of facilities to help them enjoy there stay. Whether you’re on a strict training program or just looking to let off some steam, our Otium Health & Leisure Club is perfect. You can go for a quick workout, soak away stress in the spa, or do a few lengths in the pool. Please note our Otium Club will be closed for refurbishment from 15th August to 22nd August.
