HOTEL DESCRIPTION: Starting with our location. Overlooking the Campsie Hills and views across to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, and perfectly located centrally for both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the views and scenery are… impossible to do justice to in words. The bedrooms brim with wonderfulness. The spa is a relaxation sensation and the state-of-the-art leisure club is well-equipped for dynamic workouts. The grounds are pretty special too, and we don't just mean the championship golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros, that's so challenging we only get a single hole in one a year. The things we're most proud of, however, are our staff, quirks and all. Three of them have been looking after guests here for nearly 50 years. Two of them are members of royalty. Five of them walked over hot coals for a spina bifida charity. One of them sings opera in the cellar. Their passion and dedication is only surpassed by their friendliness.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The 148 rooms at the Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort overflow with contemporary style and glamour, from the designer headboards to the beautiful counterpanes. Subtle tones have been employed with great effect, contrasting soft latte shades with rich chocolates to create a warm and sensual haven, and throwing in a touch of vibrancy with dramatic soft furnishings to add a bit of drama.

Using fabulously flavoursome Scottish ingredients, our team of creative chefs have cleverly devised a list of dishes to dine for. But it's not just us who think they're amazing; our menu has won an award for scrumptiousness (as has our food!).

Wander in for a leisurely morning coffee, made just the way you like it, and a quiet read of the papers. Pop in for a quick snack or a much-needed drink after a round of golf. Stay for lunch, or chill out on the terrace in the afternoon with a cheeky glass of wine. Come for pre-dinner aperitifs, and sip away into the evening, watching the sunset across the hills.

Sitting at the 18th hole of our rather splendid golf course, the restaurant has the most amazing views across the greens to the Kilsyth and Campsie Hills beyond. When the sky's clear and the weather's fine, a seat on the terrace can seem like the best place on earth.

We have 7 conferencing suites in all, with air conditioning and black out facilities. The rooms are spacious and flexible, adapting to any event from a board meeting, to a video conference, to a training day. We've recently refurbished 6 of the rooms to combine inspiring surroundings with slick professionalism. And our impressive new Carrick Suite is the jewel in our crown, seating up to 400 theatre style and lending itself to conferences, banquets, meetings, car launches or receptions with equal flair.

There’s quite simply so much to do, in such a lovely environment. And when you’ve done your pulse-pumping work out, the relaxation fairies get to work, gently lulling you into such a state of calm, you never want it to end.

This fitness mecca has row after row of whizzy high-tech exercise machines. One of our on-site fitness gurus will show you how they work. The machines are by Technogym and they're futuristic pieces of wizardry that work with a wellness key system that stores your settings and personalises the machine to your individual workout.
