PASSPORTS:
Passport valid for longer than expiry of visa required by all
except:
1. EU nationals, and nationals of Iceland, Liechtenstein,
Norway and Switzerland, with a valid national ID card.
VISAS: Required by all except the following:
(a) EU nationals, nationals referred to in the chart above for stays of
up to 90 days for touristic or transit purposes only (except full British
passport holders, who also do not need visas for business purposes for
an indefinite period, and Italy, who are only visa exempt for up to 30
days), and nationals of Bosnia & Herzegovina (within the period of
May 15 to September 30 2004 only);
(b) 2. nationals of Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR), Israel, Korea (Rep), Malaysia, Mexico,
New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Singapore, Switzerland and Venezuela for
stays of up to 90 days;
(c) nationals of Malta for stays of up to 180 days;
(d) nationals of Monaco for stays of up to 3 months;
(e) nationals of Bolivia, Bulgaria, Holy See, Romania, San Marino and
United Nations passport holders for stays of up to 30 days;
(f) holders of Refugee Travel Documents (Convention of 28 July 1951) are
visa exempt provided given refugee status according to the Convention
and status of the following states: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg,
Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and
the UK.
Note: (a) Visitors should have the equivalent funds of US$50
per person per day for their stay in the Slovak Republic; this may be
checked by customs. (b) Further information is available from the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs (website: www.foreign.gov.sk). (c) If granted an entry
visa, nationals are required by law to register with local Police authorities
within 3 days of arrival according to the address of their accommodation.
Types of visa and cost: Tourist: USD$37 (single-entry);
USD$92 (multiple-entry); USD$154 (long-term). Transit: USD$37 (one-way);
USD$46 (two-way/return); USD$92 (multiple). Airport Transit: USD$37.
Note: (a) There is a processing fee of USD$4 per application. (b) Visas
are currently issued free of charge to nationals of Afghanistan, Albania
and India; however, this is likely to change in the near future. Contact
the Embassy for further information.
Validity: Tourist: Single-entry: up to 90 days; Multiple-entry:
unlimited number of 90-day stays during a 90-day period. Transit: 5 days
(plus 7 reserve days). Airport Transit: 3 days within airport confines.
Note: Tourist visas can be issued a maximum 90 days before the intended
start date.

Application requirements: (a) Passport valid beyond requested
validity of visa, with one blank page. (b) Completed application form.
(c) One passport-size photo. (d) Fee (including processing fee), payable
by cash, cheque or postal order. (e) For postal applications include a
stamped, self-addressed envelope. (f) Valid health and travel insurance.
Working
days required: In most cases, the process will take up to 30
days. However, all visa applications are referred to the Slovak Immigration
Headquarters and local embassies can not guarantee the time required for
processing.
Temporary residence: Special application form required; enquire
at the Embassy.
