Relaxation from the dawn of time. In prehistoric times the basin of Baza was filled by a huge blue lake where Mammoths and Rhinoceroses grazed under the hungry eyes of primitive European man. Their remains & fossils can be admired nowadays at the museum nearby in Orce.Until 40 years ago this savage, beautiful forgotten part of the provence of Granada was full of small hamlets carved into the hills around the barren lands formed by the drying out of the old lake.Today restored to its original splendour at one of those Hamlets, where moors, plaster miners and subsistence farmers have successively sought refuge. We can offer you a magnificent and unforgettable voyage back to the depths of time in breathtakingly beautiful accommodation formed by this unique way of life. The Bar:
	One of the highlights to your stay at Aljatib will be our Bar & Restaurant. Our kitchens use only the best fresh ingredients many of which come direct from our own vegtable gardens We have 3 types of cooking. Traditional Andalusian, Arabic and French. Celebrating the three main influences in Aljatib. Taste delicacies such as Confit de Canard, Gaspachi and Chicken Couscous. In summer evening we often light the BBQ and watch the sun go down over El Jabalcón from our main terrace.Our Restaurant is open for Breakfast, Luch and Dinner everyday of the week. Relaxation and Theraphy:
	The Hammam: Our traditional Arabic Hammam is one of Baza's most unusal sights. The hammam is constructed completely in a Troglodyte cave. Within the hamman there are changing rooms for ladies and men, A hot bath, a warm room and a cold bath, A natural solarium, a massage room and a "chill out" room.Our sessions last for 2 hours with half an hour "steaming". In the hot room you can swim and when it starts to steam up work your way upto a favourite alcove to let your pours open and your worries wash away. Because of the steam and the moisture a Hammam is more agreeable than a sauna leaving your body feeling soft and relaxed. In the cold room there are a number of water jets and sprays which will get your blood circulation going.Afterwards a walk or rest outside in our natural solarium will cap off your visit in a most agreeable way.We also offer a whole range of massages to make a visit to our Hammam a highlight of your time in Andalucia.
The Massages: We have a team of professional masseurs waiting for you. In our special massage room our team's soothign hands will massage your worries away. As either part of a session in the hammam or just because we have something for you.Starting with 15 minutes relaxatiion massages (during a hammam session) upto 1 hour 45 minute full body massages.The massage room has soft relaxing music to help you forget your day to day routine and really enjoy your holiday.
	The Tea Rooms: In our Traditional Arabic tearoom and terrace you can enjoy some of our finest selections of teas. Taking tea is an essential and fulfilling part of life in Granada.
Childrens Cave:
	Aljatib is child friendly, you will often hear the sounds of happy children playing. The safe play cave is full of wonderous tunnels and slides (even a tunnel from the restaurant to the play area). In the cave is a large soft area for jumping and playing. A blackboard wall for grafiti and drawing. In summer the pluge pool is filled with both water and laughing children.The whole complex is safe and fun to explore.Should parents wish to relax in the Hamman and tearooms, or have a masssage and not worry about their children we can organise babvysitting for you with just a small amount of notice.
