Radisson
SAS Polar Hotel is the world's northernmost full-service hotel,
located in the middle of Longyearbyen. There is a magnificent
view from the hotel of the Isfjord's snow-clad peaks, the
majestic Hiorthfjellet mountain and Adventdalen to the north
and historical Longyearbyen with the Longyear glacier to the
south. The Radisson SAS Polar Hotel joined Radisson SAS Hotels
and Resorts in January 2000.
Airport
Longyearbyen Svalbard Airport is situated 5 km from the hotel.
The airport bus meets all flights and the cost is NOK 40 per
trip.
Transportation
There is no train transport on the island. Boat docks located
1 mile (1.5 km) north west of the hotel. |

| ROOM FEATURES |
Radisson
SAS Polar Hotel Spitsbergen was opened in March 1995 –
a modern, functional and environmentally friendly hotel.
The hotel was renovated in 2001 and has a high standard
of food and accomodation. All rooms have bathroom, TV, radio,
minibar and telephone. As our guest, you can relax in front
of the fire in the hotel's charming lounge or study Arctic
literature in the library. You can also visit our sauna
and relax after a day of meetings or a day out in the Arctic
wilderness.
Radisson
SAS Polar Hotel has a total of 95 rooms whereof 6 suites
and 28 apartments. Our apartments have 4 beds, bunk beds
in separate bedroom and double sleeping coach in the living
room, kitchen, bathroom with shower/wc, television and phone.
The location for our apartments is at the Polarcentre next
to the hotel building, 10 meters away. Breakfast in Restaurant
Nansen.

Health
Facilities
Sauna is available in the hotel. A health club with swimming
pool is situated 20 minutes from the hotel.
Recreation
Svalbard enjoys dutyfree status, and that makes shopping
even more attractive! Exciting shops are only 2 minutes
walk from the hotel. Wilderness adverture packages are offered
through Svalbard Polar Travel.
Radisson SAS Polar Hotel gives, together with tour operator
Spitsbergen Travel, the best possibility for adventurous
activities and can help the guests in arranging cruises
to Tempelfjorden, Isfjorden or to the Russian town of Barentsburg,
sightseeing in Longyearbyen, scooter safari, daring tours
in the ice caves as well as passionate experience of the
midnight sun
lounges for smaller groups. |
The hotel's restaurant, Restaurant Nansen, features panoramic
views of the Isfjord and Hiorthfjellet mountain. The restaurant
has a varied and tempting à la carte menu, with a
selection of arctic dishes. As Svalbard enjoys duty-free
status, our guests can enjoy exquisite food and wine at
reasonable prices. Barents Pub, the town's most popular
meeting place, has an informal atmosphere, and there is
often live music at weekends.
Radisson SAS Polar Hotel is highly suited for conferences,
meetings and banquets. The André conference room
is the hotel's largest function room which can be divided
into two smaller rooms and is suitable for conferences and
banquets. André has excellent lighting and working
