HOTEL DESCRIPTION: The Alexandra Hotel is centrally located in the charming south side of Stockholm city centre, in the quiet and genuine neighbourhood known as Södermalm. The hotel serves as the perfect gateway to explore the rich cultural history evident on the streets of Stockholm. Underground subway, commuter trains and buses are found within the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Stockholm International Fairs at Älvsjö are only 5 min away with the commuter train. Ericsson Globe Arena is also 5 min away by underground metro and the famous harbour, the Old Town, ferries to the Royal Island of Djurgården and the Viking Line Cruise Terminal at Stadsgårdskajen are all within an easy 10-15 min walking distance. Södersjukhuset, Eriksdalbadet, Mariatorget, Tantolunden, Zinkensdamm and Medborgarplatsen are located in the near vicinity and only 5-10 min walking distance from the hotel.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: All guest rooms are non-smoking rooms with en-suite bathrooms, TV, radio and IDD-telephone. All rooms are kept in good condition. Higher floors could be reached by stairs only. Most rooms are located on lower floors.
HOTEL FACILITIES: Front desk and reception
The front desk and reception is open 24 hrs.New arrivals and check-in will be handled from 14.00 hrs (2 pm). Guestrooms should be checked out by 11.00 hrs (11 am).
Internet access
The hotel provides free-of-charge wireless access to high speed internet. All guestrooms and public areas may be connected to the internet from personal laptops or palm computers through the wireless network. The hotel does not provide any public internet stations or any other computer facilities. Necessary access details will be issued at the front desk.
Parking
An underground parking is located in immediate connection with the hotel. Parking at the hotel section is charged at SEK 120,00 per car per night. If using the public section for parking, payment is to be made at the automated ticketing machine. Entrance to the garage is locked after 22.00 hrs. Late arriving clients would need to contact the front desk.
Scandinavian Sauna
The hotel is equipped with a scandinavian sauna. Hotel guests may use the sauna from 14.00 hrs until 22.00 hrs. Necessary arrangements would need to be made at the front desk.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served every morning. There is a large variety of local and continental cuisine for lunch and dinner available within easy walking distance on Södermalm or in the Old Town. Breakfast is served 07.00 - 09.30 during weekdays and 08.00 - 10.30 during Saturdays and Sundays.
Activities
Stockholm offers a great variety of boat trips departing from Strömkajen (Grand Hotel) and Nybroplan/Strandvägen and also Stadshusbron at the City Hall. Popular and interesting tours would include the Vikingvillage Birka, Vaxholm, Sandhamn, Grinda and the Drottningholm Palace.
