OVERVIEW: The Rival Hotel is a boutique hotel with its own cinema located in Södermalm, the heart of Stockholm. It is shaped by the vision of its owners who wanted to recapture the glamour of the hotel from the time it opened as the Aston Hotel in the 1930s.

In addition to the cinema there is a bar, a bistro, a cafe and a bakery. It is an ideal meeting place and an exciting choice for business travellers and tourists visiting Stockholm.

The carpets in the corridors are designed by artist Carouschka Streiffert. Each floor with its own motif.

LOCATION: The Rival Hotel sits on Mariatorget, a beautiful square in Södermalm, Stockholm. This is the most vibrant part of town, where many artists, musicians, and designers live and work. It?s only 900 meters to the Royal Palace, the Royal Opera House, and the Old Town. 40 km to Arlanda airport, 20 km to Bromma airport and 100 km to Skavsta airport.

ROOMS: The Rival Hotel has 99 rooms, each equipped with wireless and wired broadband Internet access, 32-inch Sony plasma-screen TV, DVD/CD players, mini bar, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, trouser press and safe.

Instead of the traditional pay-TV system, we offer a DVD movie library from which guests can choose.

24-hour services include laundry, shoeshine, all-day breakfast, valet parking and room service.

There is movie scenery above the bed in each room. The mosaics in the bathrooms have given inspiration to the colours of the textiles, which differ from one room to another.

BREAKFAST: The delicious breakfast buffet is served in the hotel's bistro restaurant from 6.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. Monday to Friday and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to Scandinavian favourites, there is a selection of cooked breakfasts, including scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, sausages and bacon.
