HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: Working in the kitchen and behind the bar of the Storchen are people with good ideas and a fine nose for things. They conjure up home-cooked specialities that taste exquisite.
The kitchen at the Storchen is well-known for its numerous home-cooked creations, such as its own pasta made with the finest recipe, or its home-smoked salmon. The main focus is Mediterranean cuisine, and sometimes Asiatic too. «At any rate, I try to use minimal butter and cream», explains the executive chef, who has worked for the Storchen since 1992. All types of fish are increasingly being requested. Variety is offered with seasonal specialities, like asparagus in the spring and game in the autumn or a «Celebration of Cheeses» from Maître Bernard Antony. |
MEETINGS & BANQUETS : The various banquet facilities accommodating up to 120 persons are tastefully stylish settings for business and family functions alike.
The attractive ambience in the Werdmüller room. In the smallest of our three banquet rooms (20 m2), the exquisite Dutch wall murals from the former Werdmüller House, combined with the unique tile- stove, create a comfortable atmosphere.
The Limmatsaal with its charming décor. When you stand on the dark wooden floor of this bright and elegant room (36 m2), you will be able to admire one of Zurich’s most classic views: the Limmat River, the Town Hall and the Grossmünster.
The classically elegant Salon Littéraire. The largest banquet room (42 m2) is called the “Littéraire”. With its extraordinary moulded ceiling and beautiful wooden floor, this elegant room will charm your guests with its breathtaking view of the Old Town.
The Boardroom – situated right next to the Limmat. A functional meeting room on the ground floor with the most up-to-date technical equipment. The window front along the river provides an agreeable amount of light and also a magnificent view of the Limmat and the “Grossmünster”. |

The hospitality of the «Storchen» on Zurich’s Weinplatz has been known for 650 years. Ideally situated on the bank of the Limmat River, our superior first-class hotel is located in the heart of the Old Town and only a 2-minute walk from the famous Bahnhofstrasse. Completely reconstructed in 1938 and renovated in 1997, the Hotel zum Storchen is now a wonderful blend of the traditional and the modern.
