A
fascinating one-week tour to this little known country on the shores
of the Caspian Sea. You will visit the cosmopolitan capital, Baku,
then travel up into the southern slopes of the Caucasus Mountains
to the charming medieval town of Sheki and amazing enclave Nakhchivan.

Day
1:
Your home country - Baku.
You can fly with connecting flights
from London, Paris Frankfurt,
Vienna and Istanbul to Baku,
Tansfer to your hotel in the heart of the city.
Day 2: Baku.
Your walking tour of Baku includes
the medieval walled city "Icheri
Sheher" with its narrow alleyways, historic caravanserais,
mosques
and Palace of the Shirvan Shahs. Visit the
12th century Maiden’s.
Tower, the imposing mansions
of the oil barons, built in the oil
boom of 870- 1914 and Martyr’s
Alley with its superb views over
the Bay of Baku.

Day
3: Baku - Absheron - Baku.
A trip to the Absheron Peninsula, visiting the Zoroastrian Fire Temple,
ancient fortresses and mosques. Time for a swim in the Caspian sea,
before returning to Baku.
Day 4: Baku - Shamakhi - Sheki.
Depart for the Caucasus Mountains in the northwest of Azerbaijan.
The dry landscape around Baku gives way to a densly fo rested mountain
area. Visit the town of Shemakha, once
the capital of Shirvan and and the charming village of Lahij, the
centre of Azerbaijani handicrafts, before arriving at the his toric
town of heki. Overnight with dinner at an atmospheric converted
caravanserai.
Day 5: Sheki – Kish
- Baku Visit the Royal Summer Palace of the Sheki Khans
with its magnificent frescoes and stained glass as well as Sheki
Museum and Fortress. In the
afternoon drive into the countryside to the village of Kish with
the oldest church in the Caucasus dating from the first century
and enjoy walks in
the surrounding Caucasus foothills.

Day
6: Baku - Nakhchivan
Travel to Azerbaijan’s isolated enclave Nakhchivan, the Azeri
enclave wedged between Armenia and Iran. Known as the land of Noah,
it shares no land border with Azerbaijan and the only access is by
airplane.
Transfer to your hotel. Sightseeing in Nakhchivan city to XII century
Momina Khatun Monument, Yusif Ibn Kuseyir Tomb, Carpet Museum –
formerly Khan’s House and etc. Travel to Garabaghlar village
of Sharur region to see XII century monument. Visit to Asabu Kahf
cave – 12 km from Nakhchivan city.
Day 7: Nakhchivan - Baku
Visit Ordubad and Julfa regions of Nakhchivan to see old monuments
and magnificent nature. Travel to natural reserve Batabat in Shahbuz
region. Travel back to Nakhchivan city and transfer to Airport to
fly back to Baku.
Day 8: Baku – Your home country.
Transfer to the airport for the morning flight back
to your home country.
