LOCATION :
The family run
Pendeli Hotel located in the heart of the beautiful mountain
resort of Platres amidst a forest of fragrant pines, offers
traditional Cypriot hospitality in combination with modern
facilities.
The
hotel has been in the Panayides family since the 1940's
when the hotel began as a country house letting rooms.
Through the years more rooms were added as well as a restaurant
and a tea room.
In
1992 after a complete rebuilding where nothing of the
old building remained except the pine trees that now shade
the gardens the hotel reopened its doors as a 3 star property.
The hotel prides itself in providing comfort without extravagance,
and the management now in the hands of the 3rd generation
of hoteliers, a Cornell University graduate.
There
are 81 guestrooms, including three suites and seven junior
suites. All guest-rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortably
furnished and equipped with central heating, ceiling
fan, fitted carpet, a three-piece bathroom, colour television,
direct dial telephone, hair dryer, clock radio and private
balcony, most overlooking the valley and the surrounding
countrysiThe
Pendeli's public areas are the Nightingales café,
The Laurels Dining Room and Veranda, The Robin's Nest
bar (with fireplace for the winter months) and The Cedar
Rooms. Other facilities include: a heated open-air swimming
pool (open from May until November) with pool bar and
gardens; a fitness room, Jacuzzi, sauna, a small library,
a gift shop, a games room and a toddler play area. Amongst
the spa services are Reiki massage, aromatherapy &
reflexology sessions and Indian-Head massage.
From
The Pendeli one may pursue a variety of activities including
nature walks, mountain bicycling, and photography. Horseback
riding is available from Troodos square during the summer
months. During January, February & March skiing
at the nearby Troodos centre is usually possible. Nature
walks include amongst others the Caledonian Waterfalls
trail, the Millomeris Waterfall trail, and the Pouziaris
trail. From Platres one may visit the traditional villages
of Omodhos, Pera Pedhi, Phini & Lofou and the famous
monastery of Cyprus Kykko with its Byzantine museum.
Limassol and the coast are only a 40-minute drive to
enjoy a day at the beach

ACCOMMODATION : All
rooms have 2 twin beds or a queen-sized bed, balcony, fitted-carpet,
three-piece bathroom, ceiling-fan, colour television, direct-dial
telephone, hairdryer, baby listening, and clock-radio. Mini-refrigerators
are available upon request, as are coffee/tea making facilities.
Some rooms are interconnecting. Some rooms are suitable for
handicapped guests. Non- smoking rooms are available. The
veranda has two chairs and a small coffee table.
Large rooms (19sq.m) overlooking the swimming pool, with 2
twin beds or a queen-sized bed and a convertible sofa-bed,
fitted-carpet, three-piece bathroom, ceiling-fan, colour television,
direct-dial telephone, hairdryer, baby listening, and clock-radio.
Mini-refrigerators are available upon request, as are coffee/tea
making facilities. The large terrace (9sq.m.) has three chairs
and a small coffee table.
Our suites: The Poplar, The Juniper and The Oak, feature a
separate bedroom with queen-size bed, ceiling-fan, hairdryer,
and direct dial telephone. The living room has a small balcony,
convertible sofa bed, colour television, coffee/tea making
facilities and mini-refrigerator. The three-piece Bathroom
is equipped with air-bath. |

Located far from the city hustle and bustle, The Pendeli is
a superb option for combining work meetings and leisure time.
The relaxed atmosphere of our meeting rooms and the peacefulness
its location make it ideal holding business meetings, seminars,
celebrating events or for any other event that a group or
business might wish to hold outside its offices.
The open air heated swimming pool is 18m long x 8m wide, furnished
with umbrellas, chez-longs and lounge-chairs, and faces westwards
for maximum sun exposure from morning to sunset. The pool
is very popular especially in the afternoon after the day's
walking or sightseeing.

RESTAURANTS
& BARS : The
Laurels Dining Room is the hotel's main restaurant, located
on the 1st floor, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A large
and airy dining room, completely smoke free for your enjoyment;
it overlooks the veranda. There is a daily set menu for guests
on Half Board & Full Board basis. An a la carte menu is
also available, including traditional and international dishes,
as well as some vegetarian options. Special buffet menus are
available for groups and special occasions.
The
Laurels Veranda located partially on a covered patio and on
a long terrace shaded by century-old trees, where you may
enjoy breakfast or relax with a drink after a hard day of
walking the nature trails or sightseeing, from May to October.
Light lunch is also served during the summer months.
The
Robin's Nest is the perfect place perfect to enjoy your afternoon
tea, an aperitif or a digestive in a relaxed and comfortable
setting. During the winter months the fireplace adds extra
warmth and charm to the atmosphere. Decorated with mementos
of bygone times is a testimony of the former Pendeli.
The
Nightingales at the Lobby level, offers a wide selection of
beverages and snacks. During the season buzzes with activity
in the afternoon and evening hours. Pines Pool Bar Open in
July & August, with thirst quenching alcoholic & non-alcoholic
drinks, around the swimming pool. Serving refreshing salads
& mouth-watering sandwiches for lunch and a variety of
ice creams for afternoon pick-me-ups.
